Her warm welcome to the picture-perfect Italian countryside is soon interrupted as it becomes clearer to Cecilia that her new home harbors some dark and horrifying secrets.Principal photography will commence in January 2023.Sweeney and Jonathan Davino will produce for Fifty-Fifty Films alongside David Bernad (“The Mule,” “The White Lotus”), who developed the project with Sweeney following their collaboration on “The White Lotus,” along with Teddy Schwarzman and Michael Heimler producing for Black Bear.

Ahead of the release of Paramount’s new movie “Smile”, the film production company got creative with its marketing of the upcoming psychological horror.

Nadine Lustre, Louise delos Reyes and film and TV actor Mccoy Deleon are the leads in rising star Philippines director Mikhail Red’s “Deleter.” A first teaser has been released for the film that straddles the techno-horror and psychological thriller genres. Based on a script by Mikhail and Nikolas Red, the film follows Lyra, who works shifts at a shadowy online content moderation office where employees, known as deleters, are tasked with the process of filtering graphic uploads from reaching social media platforms. The responsibility of censorship proves bearable for Lyra, whom her co-workers, as well as her boss Simon, observe as a cold person unfazed by the disturbing imagery she sees on a daily basis. What they do not know is that Lyra hides a deep trauma. Lyra’s attempt to erase and forget her past has forced her to don an apathetic face to the horrors of the world.

Shudder, the streaming service for horror, has announced that they’ve acquired the psychological horror film Spoonful of Sugar ahead of its premiere at Fantastic Fest. Brandy Norwood will star in a new psychological horror film called The Front Room, which is being written and directed by Max and Sam Eggers – the younger brothers of The Witch, The Lighthouse and The Northman filmmaker Robert Eggers.According to Variety, the A24 film – which was adapted from a short story by English author Susan Hill – follows a “young, newly pregnant couple forced to take in an ailing stepmother who has long been estranged from the family.” Alongside Norwood, The Front Room will also star Kathryn Hunter, Andrew Burnap and Neal Huff.“It’s official!
