Blondie guitarist Chris Stein has paid tribute to his daughter Akira, who passed away earlier this year.Stein announced the news in a Facebook post, revealing that Akira passed away from a drug overdose in May.“We lost our daughter and sister Akira at the end of May to an overdose. I’ve been posting as usual because it distracts from the heartbreak,” Stein told fans.“There are a lot of you I care for that didn’t know and even though it’s not like me to post personal events publically Akira was important to many.

Queen have become the latest act to receive a BRIT Billion Award for surpassing one billion streams in the UK. Ethan Shanfeld Walk the Moon, the Ohio-based band behind pop rock hits “Shut Up and Dance” and “Anna Sun,” announced an indefinite hiatus. “The time has come for us to take a good long break from touring and making records together,” frontman Nicholas Petricca said in an emotional video posted to the band’s YouTube page. “When we do reconvene, that will be a glorious day. And the truth is, we don’t know when that’s gonna be.” Reflecting on the number of shows the band has played together — and miles they’ve traveled — Petricca said Walk the Moon is “filled with love, gratitude, appreciation, and some heartache” as they announce a “hibernation.”

Thania Garcia Demi Lovato is amping up to release re-recorded rock versions of her biggest hits for a collection dubbed “Revamped,” slated for official release on Sept. 15. Zack Sharf Digital News Director Ryan Gosling is singing his heart out as Ken in “Barbie.” Warner Bros. has debuted an official music video from the upcoming Greta Gerwig-directed tentpole in which Gosling belts out “I’m Just Ken.” The song finds Gosling’s lovelorn doll wrestling with always being second to Barbie (Margot Robbie) and contemplating what his life means without her. The accompanying clip includes Gosling’s Ken shirtless, crying and incredibly emotional. “I’m Just Ken” is the latest original song released from the official “Barbie” soundtrack, which also includes artists such as Grammy winners Dua Lipa and Billie Eilish. Soundtrack producer Mark Ronson told Variety on the “Barbie” world premiere red carpet that Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash even played on Gosling’s record after being sent the track and finding it cool.

Ethan Shanfeld George Tickner, co-founder and original rhythm guitarist of Journey, has died. He was 76. Neal Schon, the co-founding lead guitarist of the Grammy-nominated rock band, announced the news on Facebook, writing, “Journey Junkies, I have some very sad news. George Tickner, Journey’s original rhythm guitarist and songwriting contributor on their first three albums, has passed away. He was 76 years old.” Schon added, “Godspeed, George… thank you for the music. We will be paying tribute to you on this page indefinitely. Our condolences to his family and friends, and to all past and present band members. So heartbreaking. I think we need to do a group hug, JJ’s.”

When Avenged Sevenfold hit Madison Square Garden on Friday night, it was only the band’s fifth show since 2018. But the rockers rose to the occasion, not only delivering a bruising set of mosh-pit classics, but bringing riskier new material into clearer focus with a live spark.

Twitter on Wednesday as they paid a heartfelt tribute to the 'unforgettable musician', with his death coming just two months after frontman Mark Stewart passed away.  They wrote in a statement: 'An influential musician, and an integral member of the group, John contributed to some of the band’s most iconic recordings. 'His energy and friendship will be sorely missed, and his unforgettable musicianship will always be remembered.
