Hot Chip have returned with their first new music of 2023 – listen to ‘Fire Of Mercy’, featuring Yunè Pinku, below.The band’s new track is their first since the release of their most recent full-length album, ‘Freakout/Release’, which came out last August.Discussing the new track, the band’s Joe Goddard said: “Fire of Mercy’ relates to the central concept of William Blake’s ‘Songs of Experience’ – it bemoans the corruption that inevitably comes from adulthood and longs for a return to the purity of childhood.”Yunè Pinku added: “Massive honour to work with Hot Chip as they’re huge legends within the electronic world. Semisonic have announced their first album in 22 years ‘Little Bit Of Sun’ and shared new single ‘The Rope’.The Minneapolis band, famed for their huge 1998 single ‘Closing Time’ as well as ‘Secret Smile’, formed in 1995 and released three albums before they split in 2001. They reunited 16 years later to play a series of shows to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut album ‘Great Divide’ and released a new EP ‘You’re Not Alone’ in 2020.Now, the band will release their new LP, which includes Jason Isbell and My Morning Jacket‘s Jim James, through Pleasuresonic Recordings on November 3.The trio – Dan Wilson, John Munson and Jacob Slichter – have also shared the video for the first taster from the record, which you can watch below.Wilson previously opened up about how Liam Gallagher indirectly inspired the band to reunite to release new music.“I had this great meeting with Liam,” he said at the time.

K-pop girl group NewJeans have released a new music video for their song ‘ASAP’On July 26 at Midnight KST, the quartet dropped the dreamy music video for ‘ASAP’, one of six tracks from their new mini-album ‘Get Up’ which arrived last week.The new visual reimagines the girl group as ethereal forest fairies who are followed around by creatures with glowing eyes in the dark. These are later revealed to be bunnies, NewJeans’ official mascot, in the daylight.“ASAP baby, hurry up don’t be lazy / ASAP baby, hurry up don’t say maybe / ASAP baby, hurry up don’t say maybe,” they sing on the chorus, before the song’s instrumental break.‘ASAP’ is the sixth and final track on the girl group’s sophomore mini-album to receive the music video treatment.
