Emmerdale viewers have worked out that a reunion between fan-favourites Charity Dingle (played by Emma Atkins) and Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) could be on the cards following Tuesday's episode, 13 February. Vanessa has only just returned to the ITV soap after a year away during the actress's maternity leave, but fans have been begging for her to connect with ex Charity again.
The pub landlord, who is currently married to Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) was taken-aback to see her former flame in David's shop in the village, with her son Johnny in tow. Charity's son Moses was thrilled to be reunited with his former step-brother, and the pair instantly ran off to play.
But as Mack watched the two women like a hawk for any sense that the pair could reconnect after so much time apart, Charity assured him of the opposite. "It was like the old days," Charity shared wistfully, reminiscing about her past life. "Don't know where you get your energy from," Mack said carefully.
"Good seeing Vanessa." "Yeah it is now we can put the past behind us. Means we can all just get along doesn't it," Charity went on hopefully, but her next comments left many viewers feeling that the writing was on the wall. "There's no lingering feelings if that's what you're wondering.
I'm just glad we can be friends," Charity insisted, prompting many to sense that the writers were dropping a clue for the future of the plot. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, fans shared their thoughts for what's to come, predicting that Charity and Mack will finally split up after a turbulent year and the former will go back to her ex-wife.
