Fans of ITV's Emmerdale have shared their confusion after Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) managed to visit Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) in hospital. Charity had been being questioned by police after she accidentally stabbed Mackenzie, but headed straight to visit Mackenzie after police released her. Charity has been suffering from hallucinations and nightmares since she killed Harry Harris (Robert Beck) on Christmas Day in order to keep Mackenzie safe.
In a recent episode, Charity thought she saw Harry in her house trying to scare her, but it wasn't real. When Mackenzie got home, he attempted to help Charity. However Charity was so terrified, she thought Mackenzie was Harry and stabbed him in self-defence.
Mackenzie's sister Moira Dingle arrived at the home to find her brother bleeding on the floor. A stunned Charity hadn't called an ambulance, as she remained sitting on the sofa shocked. Charity was taken in for questioning, and in Monday's (26 February) episode, she was seen being released from the police station not long afterwards.
Fans questioned why she hadn't been given help by police, and also wondered how she'd gained access to the hospital as she was the person who hurt Mackenzie.
