John Travolta has shared details of an experience he had with a “total electrical failure” on a plane. The 69-year-old, who had been piloting the jet at the time, recounted the event at a screening of his upcoming short film, The Shepherd, which will be released on Disney+.The movie – which is an adaptation of Frederick Forsyth’s 1975 novel – involves a young fighter pilot who finds himself in danger when his plane undergoes multiple system failures.Travolta shared that when he discovered and read the book, it was just after his own frightening aviation incident.According to the BBC, the actor said: “The kismet of the project is, I actually experienced a total electrical failure, not in a Vampire [jet] but a corporate jet, over Washington DC, prior to my discovering the book.”He continued: “So when I read the book, it resonated more because of this experience I’d personally had.”“I knew what it felt like to absolutely think you’re going to die. Because I had two good jet engines but I had no instruments, no electric, nothing,” the Grease star shared.Referring to the performance by his co-star, Ben Radcliffe, he said, “I thought it was over, just like this boy, portrayed so beautifully [by Radcliffe].

Is it written in the stars? Find out which Oscar 2024-nominated movie matches your zodiac sign

Jimmy Kimmel is set to host and Scorpio king Ryan Gosling will take to the stage to perform his existential bro-anthem “I’m Just Ken.” Gosling is nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category for his role in the blond blockbuster “Barbie.” Despite critical acclaim, the film’s director Greta Gerwig, and star, Margot Robbie were notably excluded from the Best Director and Best Actress categories — thereby proving the point of the movie they made. In 2024, we’ll be celebrating the tenth anniversary of Aquarius John Travolta’s abject butchering of Idina Menzel’s name — and, we’re told, the public debut of Bradley Cooper and Gigi Hadid’s relationship. If the zodiac signs themselves were winners in academy categories, we’d place our bets that Aries wins Best Live Action Short Film, as they go hard and but not for long.

Fred Durst and John Travolta’s ‘The Fanatic’ trending again due to how little it made at the box office

John Travolta and Fred Durst’s box office bomb The Fanatic is trending again, with people scarcely believing how little money the movie made.Released in 2019, the film, which the Limp Bizkit frontman directed, took a paltry $3,153 (£2,489) at the box office in its opening day. It is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The film may have barely been seen in theatres at the time, but with the title trending on social media over recent days, it does continue to have an unfortunate life of its own, some five years later. One account on X, formerly Twitter, wrote: “Just learned there is a movie that Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst wrote and directed starring John Travolta as an autistic stalker, and it only made $3000 at the box office.”Just learned there is a movie that Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst wrote and directed starring John Travolta as an autistic stalker, and it only made $3000 at the box office.

‘Spaceman’ Review: Adam Sandler Fails To Style Out This Dour Sci-Fi – Berlin Film Festival

For a time, it seemed like an auteur war was about to break out over Adam Sandler, with some of America’s most revered directors vying to find the right role for the comedian. It was rumored, but never confirmed, that Quentin Tarantino imagined him a key role while writing Inglourious Basterds, although this might have been wishful thinking from critics who saw the talented Sandler heading in the same direction as John Travolta until Pulp Fiction saved him from a lifetime of Look Who’s Talking movies. In the end, Paul Thomas Anderson got there first, with Punch Drunk Love (2002), although the glow of a bona fide arthouse hit didn’t last long, and Jack and Jill still happened less than ten years later.

Oh baby, what? The surprising secrets behind Britney Spears’ ‘…Baby One More Time’ video

Britney Spears’ debut single, “…Baby One More Time.”Indeed, the same California high school where John Travolta’s Danny and Olivia Newton-John’s Sandy were “Born to Hand Jive” in the 1978 movie classic set the scene for Spears’ graduation to the top of the pop world.“It was filmed at Venice Beach High School — the same place they filmed ‘Grease,’” Felicia Culotta — who was the then 16-year-old Spears’ assistant/chaperone — told The Post. “And we were just like, ‘Oh my gosh — nothing’s gonna get any better than this!’”The classic clip that premiered on MTV in November 1998 — two months after the single’s release — was the brainchild of the teenager herself.“The video was 100 percent her idea,” said Barry Weiss, who was then president of Spears’ label, Jive Records.“That was a huge, huge vehicle that broke her on a global basis.”Indeed, the timing couldn’t have been better: MTV’s “TRL” premiered just two months before Spears would deliver the video for her army of new fans.“The time that it was on during the day meant that kids would rush home from school and vote for their favorite video,” said Lori Majewski, host of SiriusXM’s “Fierce: Women in Music,” who was Entertainment Editor at Teen People magazine when Spears launched her recording career. And those young fans would become instantly acquainted with Culotta, who made a last-minute appearance in the schoolroom scenes at Spears’ request.“They said, ‘Oh, we don’t have a teacher,’” said Culotta.
