Emmerdale’s Frank Clayton star now - co-star wife, real name and plane pilot career
Emmerdale was shaken in August 2019 when Frank Clayton was killed off after an explosion in the sweet factory.Frank, father to Vanessa Woodfield and Tracy Metcalfe, went from a dodgy dealer to a much-loved character during his three-year stint in the ITV soap, played by Michael Praed.Frank took the fall for the explosion, which was really caused by Kerry Wyatt and her daughter Amy - and Frank had only dashed inside to save Tracy from the fire.READ MORE: Emmerdale’s Rebecca Sarker displays toned derrière and endless legs in teeny shorts But where is the actor now after leaving the ITV Dales behind for good? From learning to fly a plane to his relationship with his co-star partner, Daily Star takes a deep delve into his life after Emmerdale. Though Michael has gone by the name Michael Praed for the majority of his acting career, it isn’t his birth name.He was born in Berkeley, Gloucestershire, on April 1, 1960, under the name Michael David Prince. But he soon discovered that British acting union Equity already had someone with the same name on its member list, so chose a name at random from a telephone book to be more easily recognised. It turns out that the name Praed is actually Cornish for ‘meadow’ - so definitely a good choice for the rolling fields of the Dales.Though Michael was born in England, he actually grew up in Iran, without a television.

Emmerdale star Michelle Hardwick recently returned to the show as Vanessa Woodfield - and now the actress herself is celebrating her 46th birthday.Since returning to Emmerdale, she has rowed extensively with sister Tracy and helped best pal Rhona fend off her guilt about her abusive ex Pierce. She first graced her way into the village back in 2012 and Vanessa has been at the centre of some thrilling drama in the ITV soap. From being tied up and held hostage by a murderer, having a son from a one-night stand, being stabbed by an arsonist and more recently being diagnosed with bowel cancer, fans of the long-running serial drama know that the character has gone through it all.Vanessa went off-screen last year after she left the village to visit her mother, who had a bad fall. However, in real life, actress Michelle had given birth to her first child with Emmerdale producer wife Kate Brooks and delayed returning back to the soap.Michelle is back at work and Vanessa's dramatic return was witnessed by fans of the ITV soap on Wednesday night.Daily Star has taken a sneak peek into Michelle's life away from the television cameras.Back in 2017, the Emmerdale star split from her wife Rosie Nicholl after less than two years of marriage. The devastating break-up four years ago left Michelle feeling so upset that she could not talk about what had happened with music teacher Rosie and even kept her marriage split a secret from her co-stars.Michelle and Rosie tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in April 2015 - however, they later revealed that the spark was no longer there as they started to drift apart.Back in 2017, she told Daily Star: "Unfortunately, Rosie and I did split last year but are still good friends.

"There have been certain times when police have had to be called because there have been death threats."The star added that it was unnecessary to mention her son’s name. Michelle continued: “When they’re mentioning your son’s name and you’re just going ‘Really? I’m just in a soap you know – we’re not doing any harm to anybody'.“The root of it all is always because I’m gay, I’m a gay woman. “And it’s like, ‘Lesbians shouldn’t be on this Earth, just burn in hell and die.'"In August 2021, the Vanessa Woodfield actress revealed a number of homophobic messages she received from a social media user who called her a “d**e” and “l***o brat”. At the time, she issued a challenge to the fan, writing alongside the abuse: “Come on, show us who you really are, I dare you!” In full view of Michelle’s 116,400 Twitter followers, Kate also chimed in on the abuser’s comments. She wrote: "Hi ‘Michael’, the original Prisoner Cell Block H called from 1985. “They’d really like their insults back. Thanks a mill."Later that day, Michelle returned to her social media to thank her fans for their supportive messages in light of the incident. She added that she doesn’t “take it to heart”. Continuing, she said: “Thank you to every single person who took the time to message me whether I know you personally or not. “I promise I'll read them all."In the same interview to OK!, she revealed the pair would love to have another baby and one day meet Teddy’s biological father to thank him. Michelle has been married once before to Rosie Nicholl. The pair had married in 2015 and divorced in 2017.

Emmerdale’s Debbie Dingle ‘to return’ as fans twig Mackenzie Boyd romance twist
Emmerdale favourite Debbie Dingle looks set to make an epic return to the ITV village after a year away from our screens.Though actress Charley Webb announced she had quit the soap last year after originally heading on maternity leave, the door was always left open for her as her character Debbie was never killed off.Her husband, Matthew Wolfenden, still appears in the soap as David Metcalfe. And now fans are sure they know exactly how Debbie will return, after an epic affair with her mum's boyfriend Mackenzie Boyd.Charity and Mack went through a rough patch recently, with Mack departing for Scotland after Charity looked set to rekindle things with ex-girlfriend Vanessa Woodfield. But emotional scenes eventually saw him return, and the pair have since patched things up.Fans are now suspicious that Mack could have found another Dingle up in the highlands, however, as it is known to fans that Debbie currently runs a garage up in Scotland. And she could come back hot on the heels of their affair. And it wouldn't be the first time mother and daughter have shared the same partner - as they have both slept with Ross Barton and Al Chapman in the past.Debbie also had a fiery feud with her aunt Chas after they were both seeing villain Cameron Murray at the same time. Taking to Twitter to air their theories, one fan posted: "Mack goes back to Scotland and meets Debbie downer Dingle # emmerdale." As another cheered: "What are the odds Mack gets with Debbie when she gets back?! #emmerdale."When Mack was originally leaving, someone else penned: "Mack don’t go to Scotland, might end up with Debbie Dingle!""Wouldn't surprise me at all.

Emmerdale newcomer Suzy 'to help Meena escape prison' as fans twig connection
Emmerdale newcomer Suzy could have a vital connection to serial killer Meena, after the villain was sentenced to 75 years behind bars. Some even think she could help the killer escape from prison after discovering one vital connection. This week, Suzy has been growing closer to Vanessa Woodfield - and was left put out on Wednesday (April 20) when she accidentally stood her up on a date.Vanessa was having issues at home that meant she wouldn't be able to make it on time, but thankfully Suzy was understanding and agreed to rearrange. It has also been confirmed in spoilers that Suzy is linked to Leyla Cavanagh - with the latter desperate to hide their secret link. But could she also be something to do with Meena? Meena did shoot Leyla on the bridge at Billy and Dawn's wedding, along with murdering her stepdaughter Leanna - which means Leyla was desperate to see her sent down.So could Suzy be out for revenge if she really is Meena's friend? One fan certainly seemed to think so, as they proposed on Twitter: "Know this is a bit out there but convinced Suzy is connected to Meena and could be helping with her escape, Leyla could be trying to stop her?? #Emmerdale." The same fan went on: "It kinda makes sense if she’s Meena’s pal and blames people in the village for taking her down."Another even suggested Suzy could be Meena's first victim Nadine in disguise, come for revenge after the killer 'failed' to murder her properly."I think she is Meena's friend who is supposed to have died first!" someone echoed on Facebook - though someone else was quick to shoot them down, responding: "Nadine?! She's dead!"More still think Suzy could simply be a serial killer in her own right, with one guessing: "…Not another serial killer?"While another
