Sports Interactive studio director Miles Jacobson OBE has shared that the studio would have been “more than happy” to feature Apple TV‘s Ted Lasso in Football Manager 23, though says EA “got there first” with FIFA 23.While discussing Football Manager 2023‘s approach to realism, Jacobson told NME that the Football Manager series has a history of embracing its lighter side, with a range of fictional or humourous crossovers available to play in prior games.“There used to be this show on Sky called Dream Team, featuring a team called Harchester United. Harchester United were in Football Manager,” shared Jacobson.

Microsoft has confirmed that the Lunar Shift special edition Xbox wireless controller is the second entry in the Shift series for Xbox Series X|S, and it’s on sale now.The Lunar Shift Xbox controller retails at around £63.32 ($69.99) and features a smokey colour scheme that shifts between gold and silver depending on how the light hits it. The grips have a grey and black swirl design, whilst the buttons are bright white.The media share button for the newer generation Xbox controllers features on the front, and it also has a USB-C port as well as a 3.5mm stereo port.

PUBG: Battlegrounds is set to make it harder to fight from vehicles alongside various quality-of-life improvements.Update 20.1 is set to launch on October 11 for PC and October 19 for console and will look to “reduce one-sided engagements between vehicles and on-foot players.”According to the patch notes, when the update goes live, “players driving a vehicle in the driver’s seat will have their handgun reload animation canceled if the player controls the vehicle’s steering wheel. Infinity Ward has confirmed that it is investigating issues with the Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta crashing on Xbox, although players are also reporting issues with the PC version.In a tweet posteed earlier today (September 23), Infinity Ward shared that it is “aware of an issue with crashes on Xbox platforms, and are working on a fix.”While the tweet only addresses crashes for Xbox versions of the shooter, an official feedback thread for Modern Warfare 2‘s second beta has a significant amount of PC players who are also reporting game crashes.Many PC players claim that the crashes are occuring in Modern Warfare 2‘s menu, while editing classes and trying to join parties. Some of these crashes issue a message that recommends players let Steam verify their files for a potential fix.“Allow Steam to verify the integrity of your game files the next time you start the game,” reads the error.

Techland has delayed the launch of Dying Light 2 downloadable content (DLC) Bloody Ties, in order to “polish” the DLC ahead of its release.Though Bloody Ties was intended to launch on October 13, it will now be released on November 10, 2022.Explaining the decision on Twitter, Techland shared that it has “taken the decision to postpone the launch of Bloody Ties until November 10, to allow the team extra time to polish and squash bugs.”The studio added that developers for Dying Light 2 would be answering any further questions via a Q&A on the game’s Discord server.Bloody Ties was announced at Gamescom 2022, and you can watch a trailer for the DLC below.The first story-based DLC for Dying Light 2, Bloody Ties follows protagonist Aiden through “a tournament where people sacrifice everything just for status.”“Hone your skills to defeat your enemies and make allies to obtain glory,” teases the DLC’s Steam page. “You will quickly realize that the quest for fame is just the beginning and you will find yourself involved in a plot for power and revenge.”Bloody Ties will introduce Carnage Hall, a new location that’s “filled with wealth and splendour” despite the outside world’s post-apocalyptic state.

Infinity Ward has touched on some of the feedback it has received from the first beta of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and although it plans to change certain features, others will remain the way they are at launch.In a blog post, Infinity Ward has shared that it has received “a fantastic amount of feedback” from the Modern Warfare 2 PS5 beta.As a result, the studio will be patching out some exploits, lighting issues, bugs and crashes before next week’s beta. However, Infinity Ward has also touched on some longer-term issues – including complaints surrounding Modern Warfare 2 not revealing where players are on the mini-map when they fire.“Currently in the MW2 Beta, we only show enemy player dots when a UAV is active,” explained Infinity Ward.

Diablo 4 has reportedly leaked online, showing approximately 40 minutes of gameplay from Blizzard Entertainment’s forthcoming action role-playing game.Diablo 4 was originally announced back in 2019 and, earlier this year was confirmed to be arriving in 2023.According to a user on Reddit, two videos were uploaded online over the weekend (September 18) containing gameplay from the upcoming game. One video was around five minutes in length, while the other was approximately 38 minutes long – both appeared to have been recorded from a private Discord stream.PC Gamer reports that the footage was heavily watermarked, while objects like bridges and buildings within the game world appeared untextured, suggesting that the footage had come from a test build of Diablo 4.

We felt we had to bring back Kiryu for that theme,” he continued before adding that the game is very much still in development.

Halo Infinite developer 343 Industries has set a November release date for the shooter’s level-editor Forge Mode, however it’s also been confirmed that plans to implement split-screen co-op have been abandoned.While Forge Mode was originally planned to launch in September, the latest roadmap for Halo Infinite states it will now be released as a beta on November 8.The Forge Mode beta will be introduced as part of a Winter Update for Halo Infinite, which will also include networked co-op and a mission replay system for the game’s campaign. However, the long-awaited campaign co-op will no longer include split-screen functionality, something that was originally promised by 343 Industries.“In order to improve and accelerate ongoing live service development, and to better address player feedback and quality of life updates, we have reallocated studio resources and are no longer working on local campaign split-screen co-op,” shared the developer.Elsewhere in Halo Infinite‘s Winter Update, players can expect a 30-tier battle pass, two new multiplayer maps – titled Detachment and Argyle – and Covert One Flag, a new game mode.Looking ahead, the Halo Infinite roadmap also outlines what will be included in the Echoes Within update, which is dated for March 7 to June 27.

Arkane Studios and creative director of 2017’s Prey, has claimed Bethesda forced developers to tie their game to an existing intellectual property.The first-person shooter was billed as a “creative reimagining” of the 2006 game of the same name but, according to Colantonia, that was never the intention of developers.Speaking to the Academy Of Interactive Arts & Sciences Colantonio said (via TechRadar) “I was a little at odds with some of the management with the decision of calling Prey, Prey. That was very, very hurtful to me. I did not want to call this game Prey, and I had to say I wanted to anyway in front of journalists.”“I hate to lie, and those are sales lies, not a personal lie, but it still felt bad,” he continued.

Battlefield 2042 Season 2: Master of Arms launches today (August 30) and EA Dice has provided players with everything they need to know in the patch notes.Master of Arms is a massive update that will introduce not only new weapons and gadgets but also a new map, specialist, battle pass and feature called Assignments.With update 2.0, players will be able to experience Stranded, the new map located in Panama featuring a desert lake drained of water and a beached container ship where teams will go head-to-head.“We’ve built Stranded from the ground up to be a smaller level with a dedicated CQC [close quarters combat] space,” the developer explained. The map is split into three spaces, North and South are more open, while the central space is where the CQC chaos will take place.Alongside a new map, players can get their hands on the new specialist Charlie Crawford.

343 Industries is still contemplating adding microtransactions into Halo: The Master Chief Collection due to the game’s current progression system and number of available cosmetics. The developer penned a post discussing the current state of cosmetics in the game and outlining what solutions it is considering for earnable items (via Kotaku).At present there are over 1000 individual cosmetic items in Halo: The Master Chief Collection, with some released during specific seasonal updates. Back in June 343 Industries made it clear that it is happy with the current play-to-unlock system, but that it understands new players may benefit from the option of using purchasable points to unlock items.To that end, 343 Industries has shared that “no decision has been made around the potential for purchasable SP (Spartan Points) being added as a secondary vector in the future,” but the studio says it does agree with players that the rate in which points are earned needs to be improved at the very least.Spartan Points can currently be earned from any multiplayer game in the Halo collection, and then used on any cosmetics specific to each title.343 Industries is currently working to solve the issue with an update that will allow players to players retroactively earn Spartan Points from every level between Tour one and 11 (for 329 total points) they’ve already progressed through that didn’t reward them with the points.

2K Games has unveiled the release date, cover athlete and editions of upcoming golf simulation title PGA Tour 2K23 – find out all the details below. Both the Deluxe and Tiger Woods editions of PGA Tour 2K23 will release on October 11, with the standard version of the game releasing on October 14.When purchased for either a Sony or Microsoft console, each version will include the version of the game on other generations of consoles. MultiVersus is live, players are reporting that the game won’t launch if any mods are installed.Mods are a core part of the life of platform fighter MultiVersus, with Nexus Mods being home to a number of character reskins and higher FPS limits in the game. A Minecraft Walter White skin can even replace Finn from Adventure Time.The time for these MultiVersus mods may be over however, as a number of players are reporting that the game won’t boot up at all if any mods are installed.

Evil West has been pushed back by a couple of months for a November release. The delay was announced via publisher Focus Home Interactive’s official Twitter page, with its multiplatform and multigenerational release being a stated reason for the delay.The post reads “Evil West releases on five platforms, including multiple generations of consoles. EA has teamed up with Marvel for a FIFA 23 Ultimate Team crossover that reimagines famous footballers as comic book superheroes.21 Heroes FIFA World Cup Ultimate Team items will undergo the treatment, with ex-footballers like Landon Donocan, Ricardo Carvalho and Yaya Touré included (via Eurogamer).So far EA has confirmed five footballers getting the hero treatment, along with their new aliases. The Wizard Of Oz have been found in the latest MultiVersus update.With Season One of the platform fighter dropping yesterday (August 15), a number of voice lines within the update indicate that Player First Games could be putting Beetlejuice and the Wicked Witch in the Warner Bros. title.Twitter user AisulMV (via VGC) posted multiple tweets showing the voice lines for the Wicked Witch and Beetlejuice – though as of publication, the Beetlejuice voice lines are down due to “a report by the copyright owner.”Another Twitter user has also found lines referencing the Wicked Witch and Beetlejuice in the game.That said, Beetlejuice’s lines are apparently read by Christopher Swindle, who voiced the character in Lego Dimensions.

Elden Ring has made changes to the summoning and invasion systems, making it easier to use the game’s multiplayer mechanics.For starters, players are now able to send co-op signs to summoning pools in multiple and distant areas. Capcom‘s upcoming fighting game Street Fighter 6 has revealed that Street Fighter 4 brawler Juri will make a return, along with a new fighter called Kimberly.The trailer was shared at Evo 2022’s Street Fighter 5 Grand Finals, and details two new additions to the Street Fighter 6 roster. You can watch the trailer below:The first is Kimberly, a new character in the Street Fighter series that “utilises traditional ninja techniques with an urban twist complete with spray cans and her trusty portable cassette player.”On creating Kimberly, Street Fighter 6 game director Takayuki Nakayama says that the team “aimed to create an outfit suitable for her speedy and acrobatic movements since she excels in sports like track-and-field and cheerleading,” and added that she is “an expert at running and airborne attacks.”The trailer’s second half also revealed that Juri, a sadistic fighter that made her debut in Street Fighter 4, will also be returning as part of the Street Fighter 6 roster.“Juri returns as wicked as ever, riding in with a familiar yet altered moveset for fans and newcomers alike,” shares the trailer.

EA has released a new The Sims 4 patch which addresses a bug where Sims would want to date their family members.After the release of The Sims 4 High School Years expansion on July 28, many players reported a series of bugs that were making the game unplayable. One of them included an issue where family members would flirt and try to date each other, while another was forcing Sims to age up at an accelerated rate, meaning they were growing up, getting old and dying really fast.Thankfully, a recent update seems to have fixed both of these problems along with several other issues that were plaguing the game (via PC Gamer).

Bungie’s top lawyer has said that taking legal action against cheaters is “good business” following a string of high-profile court battles.Over the past year, Bungie has taken legal action against various players who cheat, threaten members of their staff, and impersonate the company. In June the company issued a £6.2million lawsuit against a copyright fraudster and settled for £10.7million out of court with a Destiny 2 cheat site.Speaking to Axios, Bungie general counsel Don McGowan explained that “we have seen historically that bad actors will often be tolerated because the people with the skills and power to remove them do not focus their efforts there.”“To put it simply, we disagree,” he continued.

343 Industries, Halo Infinite‘s open-world map underwent “significant scaling back” before it was released.Speaking to the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences on August 1, 343 Industries’ head of creative Joseph Staten revealed that the studio made a lot of changes and cutbacks to Halo Infinite‘s map (via TechRadar).“The team went through a lot of iterations on scope and biome variety before I joined,” Staten said. “Even after I joined the team, we had to make choices about where to scale back.”Staten added that the team didn’t have the time to create the world they originally envisioned while also delivering on the quality level.

Respawn Entertainment has revealed the details for Apex Legends season 14, as well as the long-term goals the studio has for the battle royale.During the season 14 press event, the developer talked about its future plans for the free-to-play first-person shooter in a Q&A. Dying Light 2 will bring more enemies, missions and bounties for players when it arrives with the game’s second Chapter.In a video shared by developer Techland yesterday (August 1), game designer Karol Langier and senior brand manager Anna Kubica explored what the game’s next major update will bring.Kubica clarifies that each Chapter of Dying Light 2 will bring “Chapter Agents, new missions, new bounties, new ranked system, and rewards” while taking on board player feedback from the game’s first Chapter.For Chapter 2, titled A Huntress And A Hag, this will involve introducing players to Shen Xiu – Dying Light 2‘s next agent. Xiu will offer players tasks related to her proficiency in tracking and archery, and will be added alongside everything mentioned above.While Techland’s approach to Chapters may resemble the battle pass format used by other games, Langier explains that they aren’t the same.“Chapters are kind of a different thing.

Battlefield 2042’s 1.2 update, which comes with a slew of bug fixes, quality of life improvements, and some map reworks. EA has noted that the launch maps in Battlefield 2042 will undergo some changes following player feedback, with Kaleidoscope being the first major map to change with this update.The map now has more cover for new flag positions, and an improved flow across the whole of the map.“Cover has been added not only with the placement of new assets, but also in the raising of terrain to help break sightlines and let infantry move more purposefully around the map,” reads the blog post. “Most importantly, these new assets bring more tactical destruction which help to ensure that the map evolves throughout the duration of each round, and provide both attackers and defenders with new options when playing in key areas.”A Forward Operating Base has been added to the map’s park, and a second command post near the Tower as well.

Respawn Entertainment has provided an update on the reorganised Kings Canyon map in Apex Legends, as part of the battle royale’s season 14.Called Apex Legends: Hunted, season 14 is set to launch on August 9 and bring with it a new character, changes to the map, and an increased level cap.First up, senior level designer Michael Shannon recently penned a blog post about the changes coming to Kings Canyon next week. The biggest change is the increase in the maps size, as both Skull Town and Thunderdome are back in the game, with the sunken areas refilled with sand.The cage has also undergone a change, as the walls towards the top have been removed, which Shannon says should allow for “additional pressure on the dominant squad” whilst still letting the area be a power position.The hillside point of interest near containment has undergone a similar change, with many of the walls and buildings removed.There’s also been some changes to rotations, as Shannon wrote: “This major rotation in the centre of the map connected Destroyed Bridges, River Center and Hillside.

FIFA 23 will be the first game in the long-running annual sports series to let players choose the likeness of real managers in career mode.Developer EA has highlighted a number of changes coming to FIFA 23’s career mode when it launches this August, with hundreds of managers to choose from.“We’ve seen feedback from players wanting to play as some of their favourite managers, and we’re happy to say FIFA 23 enables you to play as one of the 350 plus authentic football managers, of which 30 plus have star heads, in Career Mode,” wrote EA in the post.“Upon selecting the manager of your choice, you can customize their outfit and decide on the club they’ll be in charge of. You have the option of continuing to build a legacy at an authentic manager’s current club, pick a different club to start at, or even create a new club for the manager to lead to glory.”Career mode will also include the new transfer analyst, who can give a transfer deal a rating between A and F to signify that it makes either the most, or least, financial sense.

Call Of Duty: Warzone have been removed by Activision Blizzard after an artist alleged that the skin was plagiarising their work.Since the accusation, Activision Blizzard has pulled images of the dog skin from its website (via Eurogamer).Artist Sail Lin, who uploaded an image of a similar looking human-dog hybrid to ArtStation in 2019, took to Twitter on July 29 to claim that the skin was plagiarised. “Even though I am also a COD player, I am very disappointed to see my work being plagiarised by a big company like Activision in this way,” they wrote.“I have reached out to Activision for an explanation and/or compensation, and hopefully the situation will be settled soon.”According to Sail Lin they’ve now been contacted by Activision, as they wrote: “Activision has contacted me, and I hope to have a result as soon as possible.

EA has shared a first look at FIFA 23 in action, and detailed all of the new features that are coming to the series. While the game will also be releasing on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, the current generation versions of FIFA 23 (including PC and Stadia versions) will have some improvements that won’t appear in the versions for the older hardware.This includes HyperMotion2 technology, which uses advanced 11v11 match capturing and machine learning to create “over 6,000 authentic true-to-football animations, transferred directly from the real world pitch to the game.”The match capturing has resulted in over 9million frames of data for the machine learning algorithm, which is the most motion capture data for a FIFA game yet.
