Anyone who’s ever seen a Thundercat music video knows that the virtuosic bassist, producer and multi-instrumentalist is a fan of wild visuals. His clips often draw from the darkest and most abject corners of b-movie culture, with elements of kung-fu films and horror popping up in unusual and exciting ways.
Thundercat has shared new song "Fair Chance," the latest track to be lifted from upcoming album It Is What It Is. The Sounwave-produced song features Lil B and Ty Dolla $ign and is described in a press release as being about the loss of Mac Miller.

Thundercat was the musical guest on last night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where he was joined by frequent collaborators Steve Lacy, Flying Lotus, and Steve Arrington for a performance of “Black Qualls.” During the performance, Thundercat and Lacy both wore bejeweled sweaters. Thundercat’s new video for his single “Dragonball Durag” shows the singer/bassist trying to impress some ladies while wearing his Dragonball durag. After striking out with comedian Quinta Brunson, he makes some overtures to Kali Uchis (who promptly calls the police). The video ends with him popping out of a dumpster to dance for HAIM. This April, Thundercat is due to release It Is What It Is, his first full-length project since Drunk came out back in 2017. We've already heard lead single "Black Qualls," a megawatt collaboration with Steve Lacy and Steve Arrington. His newest is all him, though — it's a track called "Dragonball Durag" that finds the L.A. funk musician dialing up the charm and slipping into something comfortable.
