EA has released a new The Sims 4 patch which addresses a bug where Sims would want to date their family members.After the release of The Sims 4 High School Years expansion on July 28, many players reported a series of bugs that were making the game unplayable. One of them included an issue where family members would flirt and try to date each other, while another was forcing Sims to age up at an accelerated rate, meaning they were growing up, getting old and dying really fast.Thankfully, a recent update seems to have fixed both of these problems along with several other issues that were plaguing the game (via PC Gamer).

Bungie’s top lawyer has said that taking legal action against cheaters is “good business” following a string of high-profile court battles.Over the past year, Bungie has taken legal action against various players who cheat, threaten members of their staff, and impersonate the company. In June the company issued a £6.2million lawsuit against a copyright fraudster and settled for £10.7million out of court with a Destiny 2 cheat site.Speaking to Axios, Bungie general counsel Don McGowan explained that “we have seen historically that bad actors will often be tolerated because the people with the skills and power to remove them do not focus their efforts there.”“To put it simply, we disagree,” he continued.

We Are OFK, will launch later this month on August 18.In a new PlayStation blog post shared today (August 2), We Are OFK‘s creative director Teddy Dief revealed the news, confirming that the game will be released in a little under three weeks for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.We Are OFK is an episodic-based game and will launch with the first two episodes. Three more episodes will be released on a weekly basis, so the game will consist of five chapters.

Respawn Entertainment has revealed the details for Apex Legends season 14, as well as the long-term goals the studio has for the battle royale.During the season 14 press event, the developer talked about its future plans for the free-to-play first-person shooter in a Q&A. It touched on ranked updates and in-game gifting and most notably the long-awaited cross-progression.

Dying Light 2 will bring more enemies, missions and bounties for players when it arrives with the game’s second Chapter.In a video shared by developer Techland yesterday (August 1), game designer Karol Langier and senior brand manager Anna Kubica explored what the game’s next major update will bring.Kubica clarifies that each Chapter of Dying Light 2 will bring “Chapter Agents, new missions, new bounties, new ranked system, and rewards” while taking on board player feedback from the game’s first Chapter.For Chapter 2, titled A Huntress And A Hag, this will involve introducing players to Shen Xiu – Dying Light 2‘s next agent. Xiu will offer players tasks related to her proficiency in tracking and archery, and will be added alongside everything mentioned above.While Techland’s approach to Chapters may resemble the battle pass format used by other games, Langier explains that they aren’t the same.“Chapters are kind of a different thing.

Battlefield 2042’s 1.2 update, which comes with a slew of bug fixes, quality of life improvements, and some map reworks. EA has noted that the launch maps in Battlefield 2042 will undergo some changes following player feedback, with Kaleidoscope being the first major map to change with this update.The map now has more cover for new flag positions, and an improved flow across the whole of the map.“Cover has been added not only with the placement of new assets, but also in the raising of terrain to help break sightlines and let infantry move more purposefully around the map,” reads the blog post. “Most importantly, these new assets bring more tactical destruction which help to ensure that the map evolves throughout the duration of each round, and provide both attackers and defenders with new options when playing in key areas.”A Forward Operating Base has been added to the map’s park, and a second command post near the Tower as well.

Respawn Entertainment has provided an update on the reorganised Kings Canyon map in Apex Legends, as part of the battle royale’s season 14.Called Apex Legends: Hunted, season 14 is set to launch on August 9 and bring with it a new character, changes to the map, and an increased level cap.First up, senior level designer Michael Shannon recently penned a blog post about the changes coming to Kings Canyon next week. The biggest change is the increase in the maps size, as both Skull Town and Thunderdome are back in the game, with the sunken areas refilled with sand.The cage has also undergone a change, as the walls towards the top have been removed, which Shannon says should allow for “additional pressure on the dominant squad” whilst still letting the area be a power position.The hillside point of interest near containment has undergone a similar change, with many of the walls and buildings removed.There’s also been some changes to rotations, as Shannon wrote: “This major rotation in the centre of the map connected Destroyed Bridges, River Center and Hillside.

FIFA 23 will be the first game in the long-running annual sports series to let players choose the likeness of real managers in career mode.Developer EA has highlighted a number of changes coming to FIFA 23’s career mode when it launches this August, with hundreds of managers to choose from.“We’ve seen feedback from players wanting to play as some of their favourite managers, and we’re happy to say FIFA 23 enables you to play as one of the 350 plus authentic football managers, of which 30 plus have star heads, in Career Mode,” wrote EA in the post.“Upon selecting the manager of your choice, you can customize their outfit and decide on the club they’ll be in charge of. You have the option of continuing to build a legacy at an authentic manager’s current club, pick a different club to start at, or even create a new club for the manager to lead to glory.”Career mode will also include the new transfer analyst, who can give a transfer deal a rating between A and F to signify that it makes either the most, or least, financial sense.

Call Of Duty: Warzone have been removed by Activision Blizzard after an artist alleged that the skin was plagiarising their work.Since the accusation, Activision Blizzard has pulled images of the dog skin from its website (via Eurogamer).Artist Sail Lin, who uploaded an image of a similar looking human-dog hybrid to ArtStation in 2019, took to Twitter on July 29 to claim that the skin was plagiarised. “Even though I am also a COD player, I am very disappointed to see my work being plagiarised by a big company like Activision in this way,” they wrote.“I have reached out to Activision for an explanation and/or compensation, and hopefully the situation will be settled soon.”According to Sail Lin they’ve now been contacted by Activision, as they wrote: “Activision has contacted me, and I hope to have a result as soon as possible.

Among Us developer Innersloth has explained how the studio almost stopped active development of the social game in 2019.Innersloth’s Marcus Bromhander appeared on the Visionaries Podcast last week (July 27) and talked about how the team was “basically done” with the game’s development in 2019 (transcription via PCGamesN).“We were basically done with [Among Us] at the start of 2019,” said Bromhander, after the game was released in late 2018 and received updates and extra content before 2019.Bromhander added that the team thought “that’s it, no more, time to work on something else,” and that some staff started “prototyping some other game ideas that got pretty far.”Check out the full podcast episode below:It was around this time in early 2019 that InnerSloth saw its social deduction game get immensely popular, so the studio changed its mind and decided to continue developing and support the idea.“Should we do Among Us 2 or should we update the game that everyone is already playing?” added Bromander. “There’s so many people playing, I wanted to experience releasing updates like that to a lot of people.”It was then in late 2020 that InnerSloth announced it was cancelling plans for an Among Us 2, instead opting to push all the ideas for content into the original game.The updates for Among Us are still coming as well, as it has had crossovers with both Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator and Fortnite in the last few months alone.In other news, it’s been revealed that developers and publishers at Gamescom 2022 could be paying upwards of £71,000 to show a game off during Opening Night Live.

PlayStation Plus titles have been announced, with three new games available for subscribers to download.These include 2020’s RPG Yakuza: Like A Dragon (PS4 and PS5), the remaster collection Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 – Cross-Gen Deluxe Bundle (PS4 and PS5), and indie horror game Little Nightmares (PS4), with all three being available to download from August 2.The Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 – Cross-Gen Deluxe Bundle comes with additional free content, including ‘The Ripper’ skater from Powell-Peralta, retro outfits for Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero and Rodney Mullen, and unique retro content for the Create-A-Skater mode.Yakuza: Like A Dragon marked a turning point for the series when it launched in 2020, shifting the genre’s from beat-’em-up combat to a traditional turn-based RPG system. Epic Games has announced that the WWE superstar and actor, John Cena, is heading to Fortnite this week.As part of the Epic SummerSlam, the 16-time Champion will be available as the John Cena Outfit in the Item Shop on July 28 at 8 PM ET and July 29 at 1 AM GMT.The character skin will also come with the Entrance Gear and Ring Gear styles. Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta next week as part of the franchise’s Call Of Duty League.Viewers of the Call Of Duty League Championship Weekend in early August will be in with a chance of winning free beta codes. Those that tune into the Sunday event (August 7) on the competition’s YouTube channel will be eligible to receive a free code as a drop.There’s still not confirmed window for the beta, but it’s likely to be in September, before the full Modern Warfare 2 release in October.

EA has announced that FIFA 23 will not feature Russia’s national team or any Russian clubs, due to the country’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.In a statement provided to Eurogamer, the FIFA 23 developer has shared that “In line with our partners at FIFA and UEFA, EA Sports will not include the Russian national team or Russian clubs in FIFA 23.”“EA Sports stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and like so many voices across the world of football, calls for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine,” added EA.The message is a repeat of a statement issued by EA in March 2022. Weeks after Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine in February, EA Sports joined the games industry’s condemnation of the military action by removing all Russian players and clubs from FIFA 22.However, EA did not go as far as UEFA in removing Russian sponsors from advertising.

2K Games has confirmed that Olympic gold medalists Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi are set to star on the cover of NBA 2K23 alongside Michael Jordan and one more unannounced athlete.The limited-edition version of the game will be available exclusively via Gamestop in the US, with pre-orders launching tomorrow. No Man’s Sky community has created its own cryptocurrency for players who have reached the endgame.As reported by Vice, the cryptocurrency – named HubCoin – was created by members of the Galactic Hub community which aims to provide a deeper cooperative experience for players of the sci-fi survival game.HubCoin is directly aimed at players who have reached the endgame of No Man’s Sky and are no longer in need of the game’s in-game currencies, but “still desire access to those things which can only be achieved by player activity,” said the Galactic Hub founder 7101334.“They want to commission ByteBeat tracks under certain parameters, they want to pay for an artistic canvas in their base, they want a PC player to save-edit a custom fauna companion for them, they want a skilled architect to help design their base or do interior decoration, or maybe they just want the simple convenience of not gathering their own resources.”According to the report, HubCoin runs on an Ethereum “testnet” and is effectively in its public test realm (PTR) stage.

Square Enix has released the patch notes for update 6.18 of Final Fantasy 14 ahead of its full launch this week.The massively multiplayer online game (MMO) is currently undergoing a period of 24-hour maintenance, with patch 6.18 going live tomorrow on July 5. The patch notes from today (July 4) outline what players can expect from the patch, including a detailed rundown of how data centre transfers will work (via GamesRadar).According to the patch notes, players will need to select “visit another data centre” from the character selection screen, where they can then select the desired data centre and load into it.Those travelling to these new data centres will also be given an in-game title to let other players know that they are foreign travellers, as the title “Traveller” will appear on-screen.

Klonoa: Phantasy Reverie Series has said he thinks the game could lead to more remasters if it’s successful.In a new interview with Digital Trends, Ryo Ishida discussed Klonoa: Phantasy Reverie Series, which includes the remasters of Klonoa: Door To Phantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil. Cyberpunk 2077, has denied allegations of mismanagement following whistleblower claims.Last week (June 25), the YouTube channel Upper Echelon Gamers published a video which featured claims from a whistleblower, alleging that Quantic Labs were the reason for Cyberpunk 2077‘s bugs.According to the whistleblower, Quantic Lab promised the developer CD Projekt Red a veteran team of testers for the game but instead gave the work to junior employees with less than a year of experience.It was also claimed, among other things, that the studio told staff to report a set number of bugs per day. This resulted in CD Projekt being bombarded with reports of minor performance glitches that distracted from work on more serious bugs.In a new statement to PCGamesN, Quantic Labs’ CEO Stefan Seicarescu said that the claims made by the whistleblower are incorrect.“The video published on social media starts with incorrect statements about Quantic Lab’s history.

Maxis has announced the High School Years expansion pack for The Sims 4, which will allow teenage Sims characters to “experience all the ups and downs of high school”.Announced yesterday (June 30), the High School Years expansion pack will flesh out the school lives of characters in The Sims 4.As detailed in the expansion pack’s page, this means that Sims will be able to attend classes and after-school teams, socialise with friends in the cafeteria, and decorate their lockers. The expansion pack will also explore teenagers’ lives outside the walls of school, as students will be able to spend time with their friends after school, go on dates, or get up to some mischief.“High school is a time of self-discovery! God Of War: Ragnarok was recently leaked, but now it’s seemingly been delayed.According to a recent report from Bloomberg, the God Of War sequel is targeting a November release date, following concerns that it would be delayed into 2023. Additional claims came from prominent leaker The Snitch who told journalist Jason Schreier that the release date announcement will arrive today (June 30).However, after the rumours were publicized, Schreier took to Twitter to explain that the announcement has been delayed.“On God of War Ragnarok rumors: as of very recently, there was indeed a release date announcement planned for Thursday, June 30, per people familiar,” he said. “Recent tweets from Cory Barlog suggest that is no longer happening.
