PUBG: Battlegrounds is set to make it harder to fight from vehicles alongside various quality-of-life improvements.Update 20.1 is set to launch on October 11 for PC and October 19 for console and will look to “reduce one-sided engagements between vehicles and on-foot players.”According to the patch notes, when the update goes live, “players driving a vehicle in the driver’s seat will have their handgun reload animation canceled if the player controls the vehicle’s steering wheel. MultiVersus players apparently won’t have to wait very long for the second half of the Rick and Morty duo to be added to the game.Last night (September 23), developer Player First Games released a brand new trailer which finally gave players of the brawler the first look at Rick Sanchez from the hit cartoon series Rick and Morty.The trailer – which you can check out below – teases the scientist’s upcoming release while also confirming that his pet Meeseeks will be included, perhaps as part of his fighting kit. However, although the trailer doesn’t feature a release date, it’s been confirmed that the character will be coming to MultiVersus sooner than players might think.The MultiVersus game director Tony Huynh took to Twitter soon after the trailer’s release to say that Rick will be “coming very soon” to the game (via PCGamer).

Techland has delayed the launch of Dying Light 2 downloadable content (DLC) Bloody Ties, in order to “polish” the DLC ahead of its release.Though Bloody Ties was intended to launch on October 13, it will now be released on November 10, 2022.Explaining the decision on Twitter, Techland shared that it has “taken the decision to postpone the launch of Bloody Ties until November 10, to allow the team extra time to polish and squash bugs.”The studio added that developers for Dying Light 2 would be answering any further questions via a Q&A on the game’s Discord server.Bloody Ties was announced at Gamescom 2022, and you can watch a trailer for the DLC below.The first story-based DLC for Dying Light 2, Bloody Ties follows protagonist Aiden through “a tournament where people sacrifice everything just for status.”“Hone your skills to defeat your enemies and make allies to obtain glory,” teases the DLC’s Steam page. “You will quickly realize that the quest for fame is just the beginning and you will find yourself involved in a plot for power and revenge.”Bloody Ties will introduce Carnage Hall, a new location that’s “filled with wealth and splendour” despite the outside world’s post-apocalyptic state.

Infinity Ward has touched on some of the feedback it has received from the first beta of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and although it plans to change certain features, others will remain the way they are at launch.In a blog post, Infinity Ward has shared that it has received “a fantastic amount of feedback” from the Modern Warfare 2 PS5 beta.As a result, the studio will be patching out some exploits, lighting issues, bugs and crashes before next week’s beta. PlatinumGames‘ troubled live-service title Babylon’s Fall is set to shutter its official servers on February 28 2023, just a week before the game’s first anniversary.The game first launched on March 3 this year, and has struggled to find an audience – to the extent that the game’s servers will be closing just under a year into the game’s lifespan.The server closure was announced via the game’s official website, where the game’s development team stated that “it is with deep regret to inform you that we will be terminating the game’s service on Tuesday, 28 February 2023.”This, naturally, means that the team’s planned “large-scale updates” have been cancelled. Marvel’s Midnight Suns received a new gameplay trailer and release date at last night’s (September 9) Disney and Marvel Games Showcase.The card-based tactical action role-playing game (RPG) will be released on December 2 for PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, with the release date for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch to be confirmed later.Marvel’s Midnight Suns was originally set to release in early 2022, but late last year was pushed back, before receiving an October 7 release date at this year’s Summer Game Fest. The game was then delayed a second time, with promises of a release timeframe before “the end of this fiscal year”, which is March 2023.

Battlefield will be getting a new “narrative campaign” from the studio of Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto, Electronic Arts (EA) has announced.Lehto joined EA in October 2021 and now helms the studio Ridgeline Games at the company. At the time, it was said that Ridgeline would be “focused on developing first-person shooter” games.Yesterday (September 8), EA confirmed on Twitter that Ridgeline would be “focusing on a narrative campaign” for “the future of Battlefield”.

Overwatch 2 developer Blizzard Entertainment has confirmed that any new heroes in the shooter will be available on the free track of the battle pass.Earlier in the month, Blizzard mistakenly revealed that heroes in Overwatch 2 will need to be unlocked through a battle pass. The now-removed post caused fans to express concern over Overwatch 2‘s monetisation model, with worries that heroes could require spending money to unlock.Today (September 8), Overwatch commercial leader and vice president Jon Spector has confirmed that heroes will still be available to unlock for free – though players will need to earn them through a free battle pass system.“Addressing some incomplete info posted early about our Overwatch 2 battle pass,” Spector posted on Twitter.

Arkane Studios and creative director of 2017’s Prey, has claimed Bethesda forced developers to tie their game to an existing intellectual property.The first-person shooter was billed as a “creative reimagining” of the 2006 game of the same name but, according to Colantonia, that was never the intention of developers.Speaking to the Academy Of Interactive Arts & Sciences Colantonio said (via TechRadar) “I was a little at odds with some of the management with the decision of calling Prey, Prey. That was very, very hurtful to me. I did not want to call this game Prey, and I had to say I wanted to anyway in front of journalists.”“I hate to lie, and those are sales lies, not a personal lie, but it still felt bad,” he continued.

Battlefield 2042 Season 2: Master of Arms launches today (August 30) and EA Dice has provided players with everything they need to know in the patch notes.Master of Arms is a massive update that will introduce not only new weapons and gadgets but also a new map, specialist, battle pass and feature called Assignments.With update 2.0, players will be able to experience Stranded, the new map located in Panama featuring a desert lake drained of water and a beached container ship where teams will go head-to-head.“We’ve built Stranded from the ground up to be a smaller level with a dedicated CQC [close quarters combat] space,” the developer explained. The map is split into three spaces, North and South are more open, while the central space is where the CQC chaos will take place.Alongside a new map, players can get their hands on the new specialist Charlie Crawford.

Sloclap’s 2022 action game Sifu is receiving an update later in August that will add modifiers, a scoring system and two new outfits to the game.A new trailer for the update gives us a look at the additions, with the free update releasing August 31. Elden Ring-inspired Beat Saber clone inside of Dreams.An artist working for Media Molecule, Martin Nebelong, shared his incredible creation on Twitter today (August 16) with a two-minute video showcasing the Elden Ring rhythm game.Made in Dreams on a PS5, the video shows Nebelong using a recreated version of the Moonlight Greatsword from the FromSoftware title in an Elden Ring environment. Similar to in Beat Saber, when the music kicks in, the player uses the sword to hit some sort of magical hitbox in order to execute the sounds.

EA has teamed up with Marvel for a FIFA 23 Ultimate Team crossover that reimagines famous footballers as comic book superheroes.21 Heroes FIFA World Cup Ultimate Team items will undergo the treatment, with ex-footballers like Landon Donocan, Ricardo Carvalho and Yaya Touré included (via Eurogamer).So far EA has confirmed five footballers getting the hero treatment, along with their new aliases. The Wizard Of Oz have been found in the latest MultiVersus update.With Season One of the platform fighter dropping yesterday (August 15), a number of voice lines within the update indicate that Player First Games could be putting Beetlejuice and the Wicked Witch in the Warner Bros. title.Twitter user AisulMV (via VGC) posted multiple tweets showing the voice lines for the Wicked Witch and Beetlejuice – though as of publication, the Beetlejuice voice lines are down due to “a report by the copyright owner.”Another Twitter user has also found lines referencing the Wicked Witch and Beetlejuice in the game.That said, Beetlejuice’s lines are apparently read by Christopher Swindle, who voiced the character in Lego Dimensions.
