Emmerdale viewers were left distracted during a major kidnap plot, as things reached breaking point with Rhona Goskirk (played by Zoe Henry). The struggling mum was concerned that she needed to take baby Ivy and run away to Canada, as the little girl's dad Gus became suspicious of Rhona's sudden disappearance, during the latest instalment on Monday, 12 February. As Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) and Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) tried to convince Rhona that she needed to return to the village and give baby Ivy back to her dad, the heartbreaking plot was overshadowed for some.
During one devastating scene that saw Rhona sobbing as she talked to the little girl, promising her that they would go and build a new life together, viewers couldn't help but notice that the baby being filmed was a completely different actor. Not only that, but the child looked much older than she did in previous episodes. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, viewers shared their confusion over the unexpected change.
"This baby has changed so much in just two episodes of #Emmerdale @emmerdale," one person posted. Another fan said: "Anyone notice baby was changed last night. #Emmerdale" "Have they changed babies? #emmerdale," a third puzzled viewer wondered.
While a fourth said: "WAIT.
That baby is sitting up & looks about 6months old tonight. Make it make sense, for once #Emmerdale" "That baby Ivy looks awfully old for a relative newborn? Looks a bit to mobile for her age? #emmerdale," another person commented. Rhona finally seemed to come round to Marlon's way of thinking, as he angrily reminded her of their son Leo waiting at home and wondering where his mum had gone.
