Emmerdale might be waving goodbye to a character who's been around for 23 years, following a big change of heart in Wednesday night's episode.
Fans will remember that Rhona Goskirk discovered last year that her ex, Gus Malcolm, and his partner Lucy were expecting a baby. This was despite them telling Rhona they couldn't have children due to fertility problems.
Rhona and Gus had previously undergone IVF treatment, resulting in some embryos being frozen. When they broke up, Rhona thought these embryos had been destroyed.
However, Gus prevented this and asked if he and Lucy could use them.
Rhona said no, but Gus went ahead and forged her signature, leading to Lucy becoming pregnant with Rhona's embryo.
Sadly, Lucy passed away while giving birth to baby Ivy, leaving Gus heartbroken and Rhona conflicted about the baby that was biologically hers, reports The Mirror Online.
Rhona and her family initially helped Gus, but she soon admitted she couldn't let go of Ivy and wanted to be part of her life. This sparked a battle between the parents, with Gus planning to run away with Ivy.
In response, Rhona took Ivy and left the village, leading to her arrest for kidnapping.
In a big twist on Wednesday's Emmerdale, Rhona decided she will say she's not guilty in court. Her lawyer told her she might go to jail for two to four years if she does this and doesn't get a kind jury.
Rhona was told saying she's guilty would be better, but she chose something else later. She told Marlon Dingle, her husband, and Mary Goskirk, her mum, in the cafe: "I can't stand up in that court tomorrow and brand myself a criminal... I'd never be able to live with myself if I didn't stand up for what's right. I know what's at stake but maybe I can win this. Either way,
