A 'determined, enthusiastic and tenacious' Greater Manchester Police officer has been honoured by the King.
Inspector Kam Hare led a team of specialist police officers into the blast zone at Manchester Arena in the immediate aftermath of the 2017 terrorist bombing.
He was praised by the chairman of the subsequent Manchester Arena public inquiry for doing 'everything that you possibly could to help the injured people you found in there' - and was described as a 'credit' to his office.

Based within GMP's City of Manchester district, Insp Hare has been awarded a King's Police Medal (KPM) for services to policing, in the King's New Year Honours list of 2024.
He's said to excel at public order policing and has recently acted as the community lead for multiple large-scale events in Manchester city centre – including various protests, Pride and the 2022 Christmas Markets.
GMP said in a statement: "Inspector Hare's effective engagement with organisers, partners, and communities has helped GMP preserve order and prevent offences – with the force recording the lowest rate of crime and
