But there are two sides of Ramsbottom, and they can't agree, LancsLive reports.
The Ramsbottom Town Plan was submitted last year and included a proposal to pedestrianise a section of Square Street. The road had been closed off to vehicles during lockdown to ensure bars and restaurants could remain open while adhering to social distancing measures.

Instead, the idea prompted threats of legal action - mostly amid concerns about accessibility for emergency services and waste vehicles down the narrow street.
Now, the plan 'no longer seems viable'. The idea will not formally go beyond the next stage of the application.
At a full council meeting, Bury council leader Eamonn O’Brien said: “There is a challenge with Square Street to make that work. I was of the belief and I know that was shared by members and other supporters of the plan, that we could find a way to implement a permanent pedestrianisation, but it ultimately would have required unanimous consent and support of businesses and residents.
