The creator of a petition calling for former Post Office boss Paula Vennells to hand back her CBE following the Horizon scandal has said it is 'fantastic' that she has lost her honour.
Ms Vennells, who ran the Post Office while it routinely denied there was a problem with its IT system, was appointed a CBE in December 2018. A petition was set up for her to be stripped of the honour after hundreds of subpostmasters were wrongly prosecuted in what has been described as the most widespread miscarriage of justice in British history.
Thousands more signed it after ITV aired a new drama into the scandal titled Mr Bates Vs The Post Office. Yesterday (January 9), it was announced that Ms Vennells would hand her CBE back.

They need to make sure that not only these convictions are quashed as soon as possible, but that they get the compensation they deserve.
