Coronation Street star Colson Smith shares reason Ellie Leach will win BBC Strictly Come Dancing after 'terrible' response

Coronation Street star Colson Smith has put money on his former co-star Ellie Leach winning Strictly Come Dancing and shared why he is adamant she'll lift the Glitterball trophy this year. The actress is currently a favourite among viewers of the BBC One dance contest with professional dance partner Vito Coppola.
Earlier this month, Colson, who plays her former on-screen boyfriend Craig Tinker in the ITV soap, actually appeared in the live audience alongside Ellie's ex-soap star cousin Brooke Vincent as they watched her on on the ballroom sidelines during movie week.
Speaking on his podcast, which has recently been rebranded to On The Sofa after previously being called Sofa Cinema Club and which he hosts with Corrie co-stars Jack P Shepherd and Ben Price, Colson shared how he cried 'happy tears' after watching her do so well before recalling the moment she told him she was doing Strictly.

"When she came round to my house to tell me she was doing Strictly, I went, 'You're going to be terrible!' and she went, 'No, I'm not! I'm really good,'" Colson said to which David Platt star Jack interjected: "Which isn't like her." Colson then confirmed: "It's so unlike Ellie..."
But Ben, who is known for starring as Corrie's Nick Tilsely, quipped: "Good to see you kept in the positivity though... 'You're going to be awful.'" While Jack and Colson argued it was banter, Colson then added: "She gave it back to me, put me in the place and said, 'No!'"
