Strictly star Ellie Leach has said she is 'so thankful' after she scored her first 10 of the season on Saturday night's live show.
The former Coronation Street actress, who played Faye Windass for 15 years until her exit in 2019, and her dance partner Vito Coppola impressed the judges and scored 37 points for their Paso Doble to Insomnia by Faithless. They received a perfect 10 from Motsi Mabuse, who hailed their performance as the best of the season so far.
However the pair were soon beaten by Layton Williams after he and professional partner Nikita Kuzmin scored a near-perfect 39 points for their Salsa to Quimbara by Johnny Pacheco and Celia Cruz. Some fans reckoned there was 'clear favouritism' amongst the judges after Ellie was given the 'perfect critique' without scoring the highest.

Taking to Instagram, Ellie shared a photo of her and Vito mid-dance with her 246k followers and said she was 'so proud' of her dance partner. She wrote: "Saturday night was everything i could have hoped for and more!!!!!!! I loved being able to show a different side of me and bring drama to the dancefloor and I can’t believe we got our first 10!!!! This journey has already taught me so much about myself and i’m just so grateful that you all get to come on this wild ride with us."
She went on to praise Vito, adding: "I am so proud and glad that you are getting the recognition that you deserve, you are the most amazing teacher, such a talented dancer and choreographer and i am so thankful that you are my partner."
