Strictly Come Dancing viewers have said they're 'getting tired' of comments about Layton Williams and his previous dance experience. The actor and West End star has been subject to criticism despite wowing throughout the competition so far.
On Saturday night (November 4), as the BBC One dance contest returned to screens for week seven, Bad Education star Layton opened the show with a lively jive which featured quick footwork, a pirouette and an aerial cartwheel.
Donning a matching glitzy costume with his partner Nikita Kuzmin, they performed their routine to Shake Your Body by SHY FX & T Power feat Di to secure a score of 36 – the highest scoring jive of the series so far. However, it wasn't enough to top the leaderboard as they were once again pipped to top place but Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola.

Commenting on Layton and Nikita's routine, head judge Shirley Ballas noted it was one of the most difficult dances, praising it as “absolutely outstanding”. And at the same time, Layton's musical theatre experience was being brought up on social media once again, leading to fans jumping to his defence. @PaigeBSC wrote: "Not really fussed about Layton having dance experience. He's great to watch. #Strictly."
