Ubisoft has confirmed that three of its big upcoming releases will launch by the end of the financial year, 31 March 2023.The titles mentioned are Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, the sequel to the critically acclaimed 2017 Switch exclusive; Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, a new game set within the universe of James Cameron’s movie franchise, developed by Massive Entertainment (Tom Clancy’s The Division); and Skull and Bones, the ever-elusive pirate ship battling multiplayer title which has been incubating in development since 2013, originally being conceived as an expansion and then a spin-off of that year’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.Skull and Bones was originally revealed as far back as Ubisoft’s 2017 E3 press conference, and last publicly seen at the publisher’s 2018 E3 event. Kotaku reported last year that the lengthy development cycle was due to a string of directorial changes.

Sony has announced the PlayStation Plus games for March and they include Ark: Survival Evolved, Ghost Of Tsushima: Legends and two more titles.In a blog post on the PlayStation site, the games were unveiled. All games will be available to download from Tuesday, March 1 and can be downloaded and added to your library until Monday, April 4. The games include Ghostrunner, Team Sonic Racing, Ark: Survival Evolved, and Ghost Of Tsushima: Legends.Ark: Survival Evolved is a MMO survival game.

Horizon Forbidden West was the number one game in the UK boxed charts, according to GfK sales figures.As tracked by Gamesindustry.biz, sales figures found that Horizon Forbidden West was “comfortably” the biggest game of the week. It was also the second biggest PS5 launch so far, behind Spider-Man: Miles Morales which came out the same day as the console.

SNK Global has denied reports of Metal Slug: Awakening coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, after a “fake” trailer was revealed.Fans of the Metal Slug series were excited when a Twitter account shared what looked like a gameplay trailer of a game based on the Metal Slug series. The Twitter account bio referred to its efforts as “restoring classics to appetite old fans and new fans”, however at time of writing it has now been removed from Twitter shortly after SNK dubbed it “fake”.“Metal Slug: Awakening was announced by an unofficial account,” reads a tweet from SNK Global’s official Twitter account, which adds that “this news is fake, so please be careful what you read online.”METAL SLUG: AWAKENING was announced by an unofficial account.

Disgaea series of games, Disgaea 6 Complete, is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC including all the DLC.Disgaea 6: Defiance Of Destiny initially came out as a Nintendo Switch exclusive back in June of last year, and since then has had a number of DLC packs added for characters and costumes. The strategy RPG which is the home of Prinny, NIS America’s beloved mascot, has now been around almost 20 years.The version coming to both PlayStation consoles and PC around Summer of this year will include all the DLC which has been produced since the exclusive Switch launch.

Techland, issues concerning co-op play and “problems with redeeming rewards” are the top of the list to be fixed in Dying Light 2.A tweet from launch day (February 4) has talked about some of the major issues players are facing in the game, and assures that Techland aims to fix them. Star Wars Battlefront 3 is not currently in development at DICE according to a new report.Following the news that three new games in the Star War franchise are in development at Respawn Entertainment, a new report has suggested that publisher EA may be done with the Star Wars license once these games have been completed.According to VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb; “But beyond the Bit Reactor game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s sequel, and the FPS project, EA is done with Star Wars.“He continued; “DICE, which is still putting out fires with Battlefield 2042, is focusing on the Battlefield franchise going forward. And EA is looking to once again emphasize its own properties.”Among the three games announced to be in development at Respawn is a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

IO Interactive has released the Year 2 patch for Hitman 3 which adds a new Elusive Target Arcade, PCVR support, and more.The Hitman 3 patch is available now on all platforms and is between 2GB and 3.5GB.The first new feature added to Hitman 3 is the Elusive Target Arcade, which allows players to take on the games Elusive Targets at any time.The patch notes say that “the three contracts will be permanently available via the Arcade, whether you succeed or not. If you succeed in all missions of a given Arcade Contract, you’ll be able to ‘reset’ the contract and immediately play from the start. Failure at any point is met with a 12-hour lockout.” To go with the new mode, a new weapon has been added.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax has little new to offer, the Japanese website for the Persona based fighting game has revealed a number of new additions.The remastered version of the Persona fighting game which features characters from Persona 3 and Persona 4 has received an update on its Japanese website.

YouTube has announced that videos based on Minecraft have passed one trillion views.The megalithic video platform has launched a website in order to document a brief history of the game’s journey on YouTube.“If each of those one trillion views were just one second long, that would add up to over 30,000 years. If each view were a Minecraft block 12 inches square, you could build a stack that reached from the Earth to the sun and back — with about seven million miles to spare.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has been revealed at The Game Awards.The game is currently being developed by Daedalic Entertainment and is set before The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. The trailer shows Gollum stalking a group of Orcs in a dark cave while the former Hobbit talks to himself. Raven Software who developed Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call Of Duty: Warzone will fire more than a third of its QA testers.As reported by The Washington Post, the studio announced a restructuring of the quality assurance department, where contracted testers would either be promoted to full-time or laid off. The company began contacting those affected from December 3 and will continue until December 8.

Respawn Entertainment, the developer of first-person shooter Titanfall, has decided to remove the game from sale from today, December 1.It announced today on Twitter that the original Titanfall would be removed from sale on all online stores effective immediately. Doom developer, Id Software, has contacted musician Dustin Mitchell to reach an agreement over the trademark of ‘doomscroll’ for his progressive thrash metal band.According to an investigative report by Wired, after attempting to register the trademark ‘doomscroll’ as a “band name” and “entertainment property”, lawyers from the Doom developer sent Mitchell an e-mail on October 13. Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed that Canadian studio, Jetpack Interactive, is working on the PC port of God of War.In a statement provided to Arstechnica, Sony explained that Jetpack Interactive is working on the PC version of God of War. It is also receiving supervision from the original creator, Sony Santa Monica, on the game.Jetpack Interactive is what is known as a port house and support studio.
