Arctic Monkeys have teamed up with The Big Issue for the official programme of their first UK stadium tour, which begins tonight (May 29).In support of new album ‘The Car’, the band will play 15 dates across the UK and Ireland over the next month, including two hometown gigs at Sheffield’s Hillsborough Park and three at London’s Emirates Stadium.Ahead of the tour beginning at Bristol’s Ashton Gate tonight, the band have confirmed that they have teamed up with The Big Issue for the official programme for the tour, with all proceeds going to the homelessness charity.An announcement from the publication reads: “The 36 page programme with a long lasting and collectible heavy cover, features brand-new never before seen images of the band on the road plus an in-depth interview with the band’s beating heart, drummer Matt Helders.”Discussing the band’s wish to support the publication’s work, Helders told The Big Issue: “The obvious reason is the good work you do… but it’s not just that. Royal Blood becoming annoyed with the crowd at Radio One’s Big Weekend has gone viral, sparking a variety of reactions.The duo performed yesterday (May 28) at Camperdown Park in Dundee as part of Radio One’s annual festival, where they weren’t too impressed with how the crowd reacted to them.“I guess I should actually introduce ourselves seeing as no-one actually knows who we are,” frontman Mike Kerr said at the beginning of the clip. “We’re called Royal Blood and this is rock music.“Who likes rock music?” he asked the crowd, getting a small cheer.

Ethan Shanfeld Buck Meek, the Texas-born singer-songwriter and guitarist of Big Thief, has signed to 4AD and announced his third solo album, “Haunted Mountain,” slated for an Aug. 25 release. Meek teased the upcoming release with a music video for the lead single, also titled “Haunted Mountain,” which is co-written by Jolie Holland. The album, according to the announcement, is about love and “something bigger than love, something that doesn’t challenge love exactly but stands in contrast to it. A soulfulness, or a soul-seeking fullness.” In Meek’s own words, “Not break-up songs, but an actual love song written in earnest? That is taboo now. Sometimes it can feel like all the great love songs have already been written.”

Ethan Shanfeld Dominic Fike will release his long-awaited sophomore album, “Sunburn,” on July 7 via Columbia Records. The album includes debut single “Dancing in the Courthouse,” which debuted in April ahead of the singer’s performance at Coachella, as well as “Ant Pile,” which he premiered at the festival and will officially release on Friday. “Sunburn” is currently available for pre-order and will be released on CD and vinyl with exclusive editions. Fike teased the album with a promotional video posted to social media. The 14-song album is produced by Jim-E-Stack, and Fike’s band features drummer Henry Kwapis (Dijon) and bassist Devon Workman.

Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen spoke about being randomly attacked outside a Four Seasons hotel for the first time. "I heard a couple of steps and then I just saw this [flash] and the next thing I knew was I was on the ground," Allen said during an appearance on "Good Morning America." "I landed on my backside … hit my head on the pavement." "I am no threat to you," Allen recalled saying to the 19-year-old boy who had seemingly come out of nowhere and tackled the musician to the ground. "I don't think he knew who I was, but he must have seen that I wasn't a threat because, you know, I've only got one arm," Allen explained.

The Foo Fighters had a literal motley crew of cameos in their livestream, "Foo Fighters: Preparing Music for Concerts," before announcing a new addition to the band: drummer Josh Freese. In the wake of the tragic passing of Taylor Hawkins last March, the band enlisted the help of other famous drummers, including Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith, Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee and Tool’s Danny Carey, to tease the ultimate arrival of Freese.  Each musician was welcomed into the studio by the band, only to deliver a funny remark like, "There's a white Mercedes blocking me," "I got the P.F. Chang's" and "I groomed your poodles for you." With multiple interruptions, an agitated voice off camera can be heard yelling, "Excuse me," before cutting to Freese behind the drums.

Foo Fighters have officially revealed their new drummer, who will take over from the late Taylor Hawkins. Josh Freese has joined Dave Grohl and the rest of the band ahead of the release of new album But Here We Are and an upcoming summer of live shows and festival appearances.

Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen is feeling grateful.The 59-year-old rocker, whose left arm was severed in a 1984 car crash, was attacked in March while on tour in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.According to a police report released by the Fort Lauderdale Police Department at the time, Allen was smoking a cigarette in the valet section outside the Four Seasons Hotel when the assailant struck the dummer «at a full run,» knocking Allen backward and causing him to hit his head on the ground.  In an interview on , Allen described hearing a couple of steps and seeing a dark flash before being on the ground. «I reach my hand up into the air because I thought I was going to get attacked again and I just said, 'I am no threat to you,'» Allen described.

Foo Fighters have enlisted the help of a new drummer, just over one year after the death of Taylor Hawkins. Hawkins died in March 2022 at his hotel in Bogotá, Colombia, while on tour with the band. He was 50.The announcement came during a livestreamed event on Sunday, in which the band revealed that Josh Freese, session drummer and longtime friend of Foo Fighters frontman, Dave Grohl, was joining the band for their upcoming tour. Titled, «Foo Fighters: Preparing Music for Concerts,» the livestream saw the band, which till now was comprised of Grohl, Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett and Rami Jaffee, playfully announce their new drummer by teasing fans with a gameshow like reveal.In succession, three top-notch drummers knocked on the door of the band's rehearsal room --  Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, Mötley Crüe's Tommy Lee, and Tool's Danny Carey — saying things like, «There’s a white Mercedes blocking my car,» or «Hey I got the PF Changs!» and «I groomed your poodles for you,» while the band members responded by saying things like, «We’ll be right there!»It's then a voice is heard shouting, «Um… EXCUSE ME?!» When the band looks to see who it is, Freese is seen sat behind a drumkit that had been strategically placed off-camera.«Can we play a song or something?!» he asks before the band starts playing songs from their new album, .Freese is a natural choice for the group, as he's a friend of both Grohl and Hawkins and is a veteran session drummer who has performed with a stacked set of bands, including, Guns N' Roses, A Perfect Circle, Puddle of Mudd, Nine Inch Nails, Weezer, Paramore, the Replacements, Sting and the Vandals.

Smiths drummer Mike Joyce appeared on BBC Breakfast today (May 21) to pay tribute to his late bandmate Andy Rourke.Rourke died after “a lengthy illness with pancreatic cancer”, confirmed a statement from bandmate Johnny Marr on Friday (May 19).
