Manchester City trio John Stones, Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland have been named on the shortlist for the PFA Players' Player of the Year award.
The City stars have taken half of the slots available on the six-man shortlist. They have been joined in the running by Arsenal duo Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka and former Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.
A City player has only previously won the award on two occasions, with De Bruyne winning in both 2019/20 and 2020/21, meaning he will be looking to lay his hands on a third PFA Player of the Year crown in four years. It was last won by Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah.
De Bruyne, who currently faces an extended spell on the sidelines through injury, was as influential as ever for City last season, scoring 10 goals and racking up a staggering 31 assists in all competitions. He bagged 18 assists in just 32 Premier League appearances.

Though the Belgian enjoyed an outstanding campaign last term, teammate Haaland, who joined City from Borussia Dortmund just over a year ago, enjoyed an even more impressive campaign, plundering a whopping 52 goals in all competitions. He also registered nine assists, meaning he ended his first season at the club with 61 direct goal contributions.
The Norwegian broke record after record. He has started this season in similar fashion, netting a brace in City's 3-0 win over Burnley in the opening game of the new Premier League season last Friday night.
Stones, meanwhile, enjoyed a superb campaign for Pep Guardiola's men. Though he played slightly fewer games than De Bruyne and Haaland, featuring 34 times, he played a key role in City's successes, taking up a new hybrid role,
