Roy Hodgson expects Eberechi Eze to stay at Crystal Palace despite interest from Manchester City.
MEN Sport reported this week that Eze and Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes Nunes are on a shortlist of potential transfer targets. City want to sign another attacking midfielder after Kevin de Bruyne was ruled out until 2024 through injury.
With seven days of the transfer window remaining, a deal for either is a way off. Neither Wolves nor Crystal Palace want to sell key assets with such little time to replace them.
City were initially interested in Lucas Paqueta and West Ham turned down their opening bid. They have not renewed that interest with the Hammers clear he is not for sale.

Wolves have knocked back City's first offer for Nunes too, according to Gary O'Neil. They do not want to sell their best midfielder and neither do Palace, as outlined by Hodgson.
“I know nothing about (City’s interest in Eze),” Hodgson said. “As far as I’m concerned he is (staying). I’ve had no notice from the people who matter at the club, the sporting director or chairman – not one of them has told me they are interested in selling players. I imagine Eberechi Eze would be right at the top of those players they are not interested in selling.”
Wolves boss Gary O'Neil took a similar view on City's interest in Nunes. "He’s an important player for us and has four, potentially five, years left on his contract," he said.
“He’s suspended for the weekend, unfortunately, but we rejected a bid because we didn’t feel it met our valuation and we move on."
