Emmerdale's Sebastian Dowling, who played Heath Hope, has received an outpouring of support after speaking up about his departure from the popular ITV soap. The young actor made a dramatic exit from the show earlier this week when his character tragically died in a car crash.
The shocking scenes aired over New Year showed Heath, his twin sister Cathy and their friend Angelica King stealing Wendy Posner's car to go to a party in Hotten.
When April Windsor revealed what had happened to Bob and Wendy, they rushed off to find the kids, only to discover the car crashed on a country road. In heart-wrenching scenes, Wendy tried to save Heath with CPR while Cathy and Angelica, who had managed to escape the wreckage, looked on.
Emmerdale fans have been gripped by the emotional aftermath of Heath's death, as Bob struggles to accept what happened and questions Cathy's claim that Angelica was driving at the time of the accident. Sebastian, who played Heath in the hit ITV soap, shared some behind the scene snaps from his last day on set.
He posed next to an Emmerdale road sign and also posted pictures of him filming the crash scene that marked his exit from the show. He wrote a heartfelt message saying: "Thanks to everyone @emmerdale for such a fun time filming over the 17 years." His co-star Amelia Flanagan, who plays April, was quick to wish him luck, writing: " Good luck with everything will miss you." Fans also sent their best wishes, with one writing: "All the best for what u do next." Another commented: "I'm going to miss you in @emmerdale playing heath good luck on your next journey." A third penned: "Gutted about this! Just as you were being shown a bit more they kill your character.
