Emmerdale star Gabrielle Dowling has spoken out for the first time since her real-life brother left the soap. There were tragic scenes in the ITV soap at the start of the year as Heath Hope died after being involved in a car accident alongside his twin sister Cathy and their friend Angelica King.
The trio ditched the village on New Year's Eve and stole Wndy Posner's car after the families wouldn't agree to take them into Hotten for a party. It wasn't until later that April Windsor confessed what had happened to Cathy and Heath's dad Bob and his partner Wendy, and they quickly headed off in pursuit of the kids.
In the meantime, Cathy was seen taking the back roads to the destination, much to her brother's annoyance as he told her to go a bit faster as they were already late. When she didn't seem sure, Heath said he or Angelica could drive instead and the group then weren't seen again until Bob and Wendy found the car crashed off of the side of a country road.

There were then heartbreaking scenes when Wendy tried to revive Heath with CPR until the ambulance arrived, while Cathy and Angelica watched on after already escaping the car wreckage.
Since then, Emmerdale viewers have been watching the emotional fallout of Heath's death as Bob struggles to come to terms with what happened. They believe that Heath's twin Cathy wasn't driving at the time of the crash after she claimed it was Angelica who was at the wheel at the time.
A week on from the tragic crash, Cathy star Gabrielle has taken to Instagram to share a string of snaps taken while filming
