Emmerdale viewers have predicted a major twist in the tragic death storyline that saw Heath Hope (played by Sebastian Dowling) killed in a car crash that will involve Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller). Fans will remember that amid the joyriding plot during the ITV soap's New Year's Day episode, which saw Cathy Hope (Gabrielle Dowling), Angelica King (Rebecca Bakes) and Heath setting off at break-neck speed to Hotten, Mack and Aaron were also out in another car.
Mack, who is still trying to move forward after being held hostage by ex Chloe Harris' (Jessie Elland) vicious dad Damon Harris, agreed to do an illegal job to steal a car with Aaron on New Year's Eve night. In one scene, the pair were pulled up on a grass verge, on what appeared to be the same main road out of the village as the teenagers were.
While viewers didn't see the moment Cathy, Heath and Angelica crashed, Mack and Aaron mentioned that they'd had a "close call". As a result, some fans are now convinced that this involved swerving Wendy's car, and could even mean that the latest instalment's twist is easily solved.
Tonight's episode, 3 January, saw a battle emerge between the Hope and the King family as both Cathy and Angelica were insistent that the other was driving during the moment of impact. While April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) told the police that she saw Cathy head off in the driver's seat, the latter is now claiming that Angelica asked her to swap over mid-way through.
With the parents now at war and grieving dad Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) struggling to forgive his daughter's part in her twin brother's death, Mack and Aaron may be able to close the case if they'd seen who was in the driver's seat. Taking to X, formerly
