Emmerdale fans have shared their surprise after not realising a real-life link amid the latest car crash tragedy. It has been a heartbreaking start to the year for Bob Hope in the ITV soap following the death of his son, Heath.
The teenager died after being involved in a car accident alongside his twin sister Cathy and their friend Angelica King. The trio ditched the village on New Year's Eve and after the families wouldn't agree to take them into Hotten for a party, they stole Wendy Posner's car and decided to take themselves there.
It wasn't until a bit later that April Windsor confessed what had happened to Cathy and Heath's dad Bob and his partner Wendy. They quickly headed off in pursuit of the kids and it wasn't long before they were horrified to find the car crashed off of the side of a country road.

While Cathy and Angelica had already escaped the wreckage, Heath was still sitting unconscious in the back seat. While Wendy tried her best to perform CPR, there was nothing she could do and he tragically died.
Since then, the police have been trying to piece together what happened with Cathy now saying it was Angelica driving at the time of the crash, despite being the one behind the wheel when they left the village.
During Wednesday night's (January 3) episode, viewers saw Cathy still insisting it was Angelica driving when she was eventually visited by her dad. When he said he believed her, he and Brenda Walker decided to pay Angelica a visit. But they were stopped chatting to the teen by her parents
