Emmerdale fans were left puzzled over an update about missing Gus Malcolms, Rhona Goskirk's ex-husband who vanished, leaving his little girl Ivy in the village. Viewers will remember that Gus arrived in the village earlier this year, seeking help from his ex, Rhona. He told her he was in a new relationship with Lucy and wanted to start a family, but they couldn't, reports The Mirror.
Gus revealed he still had the embryos they'd frozen while together and wanted to use them, but needed Rhona's permission as she was the other parent. Rhona was shocked to hear this as she thought the embryos had been destroyed. After meeting Lucy, she considered letting them use the embryos before changing her mind.
But things took a dramatic turn when Rhona found out Lucy was heavily pregnant and Gus had used their embryos without her consent, even stealing her passport to forge documents.
Things got even worse when Rhona confronted them and Lucy went into labour early. At the hospital, it was revealed that Lucy had died during childbirth due to complications, and baby Ivy was in intensive care. Recently, Rhona's mum Mary Goskirk became worried as it was clear that Gus, a single dad grieving with baby Ivy, was at his wits end.
Rhona and her current hubby, Marlon Dingle, were surprised to find their new house guests - Gus and Ivy, who also joined them on Christmas Day. Earlier this week, Gus asked Rhona to come home to care for Ivy, but he soon disappeared. Marlon was concerned about Gus and suggested they contact the police, but Rhona wasn't worried and later said he had texted her saying he was fine.
