Since taking over the role of Belle Dingle in Emmerdale all the way back in 2005, Eden Taylor-Draper has quickly cemented her place in the hearts of soap fans around the country. The 26 year old actress has grown up before viewers very eyes over the past two decades, with the star taking on more and more hard hitting storylines, ranging from a tense battle with schizophrenia, engaging in a steamy affair with a doctor, faking a pregnancy and even losing her on-screen mum Lisa Dingle.
But when she’s not busy delighting audiences on screen, Eden enjoys a far more relaxed life away from the cameras with most of her free time spent with her long-term boyfriend Ed. Here, we take a closer look at Eden’s life off screen, including her enduring romance with her high school sweetheart… How old is Eden and where is she from? Eden Taylor Draper was born on 28 October 1997, making her 26 years old.
A Yorkshire lass through and through, Eden originally hails from Selby in North Yorkshire, around 30 miles away from where Emmerdale is actually filmed. In total, she has four siblings, Sebastian, Pollyanna, Francesca and Posy and shares a close bond with each of them.
In particular, Eden has a strong bond with her younger sister Francesca who suffered from acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, something which meant Eden had to briefly step away from the soap to spend time with her family. Why did Eden take over the role of Belle? Belle Dingle was first introduced to fans on Christmas Day back in 1998, when she was born to Lisa and Zak Dingle in a very unexpected plot twist - as Lisa hadn’t known she was pregnant at the time! Initially the role was played by two twins named James and Emily Mather who took on the role from 1998 until 2005.
