Emmerdale viewers were left unimpressed when a scene in tonight's episode saw Kim Tate (played by Claire King) involved in an awkward gaffe at the Woolpack pub. Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) was in the middle of an upsetting situation with on-off love interest Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) as the latter asked her if there was still anything between them in the middle of the working day. Put on the spot, Mary struggled to answer and ended up lying about her true feelings, before returning to the kitchen to carry on cooking lunch for all the village punters.
Frowning at the unfortunate ending for the pair, Kim then managed to walk right past Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) and followed Mary into the kitchen. Kim demanded to know why Mary hadn't told the truth, and encouraged her friend to be honest and open about her feelings. But fans were left puzzled over why Kim had been allowed into a cooking space without a uniform on.
What's more, they questioned why Kim was even involved in the storyline and her sudden desire to offer unsolicited advice to her friend about her love life.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one annoyed viewer posted: "#Emmerdale so anyone can just walk into the Woolpack's kitchen really hygienic" "What's it got to do with Kim?" another person demanded in annoyance. "Why would Chas allow her to go marching right into the kitchen? Very hygienic. #Emmerdale." "Kim how about stay out of it? What's it got to do with her and why is she in the kitchen? #emmerdale," a third bewildered fan shared.
