Residents were told to leave their homes moments after fire crews descended on a Greater Manchester street. Police, fire crews and ambulances all pulled up near to May Walk in Partington, Trafford, where a man was pronounced dead this morning (July 23).
His death is being treated as non-suspicious by Greater Manchester Police. Emergency services were joined by Cadent gas engineers as properties on the small street, at the end of Larch Road, were cordoned off by officers.
Some neighbours were told to flee their homes following a test for 'carbon monoxide'. One resident told the Manchester Evening News: "I got a message saying 'what's going on outside your house?'.

"I looked out the window and saw all the fire service there. They told me to close the door and they came back about five minutes later.
"They did some checks round the rooms with a carbon monoxide alarm. There was nothing there, but in the attack it started beeping, that's why we were told to leave."
Four fire engines arrived on the scene at around 10.30am, and two remained in the area well into the afternoon. Police monitored a cordon on May Walk while Cadent engineers checked the area.
A resident living opposite the scene described the moment her 11-year-old son witnessed attempts to resuscitate the man. "It was pretty devastating," she said.
"We heard all the fire engines and ambulances come this morning. We were asking 'what's going on', but at the time nobody knew anything."
