Cadent has confirmed that gas mains and service pipes 'did not cause or contribute' to an incident where a man died in a home in Trafford.
Emergency services, including police officers and fire crews, were called to May Walk in Partington on Sunday morning (July 23). A man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene following an 'incident in a property'.
His death is not being treated as suspicious, Greater Manchester Police said. Some neighbours were told to flee their homes following a test for 'carbon monoxide'.

In an update issued this morning, Cadent gas said engineers carried out a 'thorough check' in the area following the incident. The gas mains are 'sound' and 'didn't cause or contribute to this incident'.
A Cadent spokesperson said: "Cadent supported the multi-agency response to the in incident in May Walk, as the gas emergency service provider for the area. We made sure everything associated with Cadent’s gas network was safe.
"We’ve carried out a thorough check of the gas mains and service pipes in the area and we can confirm they are sound and did not cause or contribute to this incident. We now leave the scene in the hands of the lead agencies, as they continue their work to establish what happened.
"Cadent provides a 24-hour, 365-day gas emergency response service. If you ever smell gas, call the national gas emergency service, immediately, on 0800 111 999, day or night. All calls are recorded and may be monitored."
