Emmerdale's ongoing drama with Mackenzie Boyd (played by Lawrence Robb) and wife Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) has finally come to its conclusion as the couple made a difficult and heart-wrenching goodbye to two major characters. After weeks leading up to the dramatic scenes, this week, which saw Charity accidentally shoot Chloe Harris's (Jessie Elland) dad Damon "Harry" Harris (Robert Beck), the ITV soap brought the plot to its conclusion.
The latest instalment, 26 December, saw Chloe desperate to broker a deal with Mack and Charity after the latter killed her dad. Determined to leave the village and take her son Reuben far away from such a painful time in their lives, Chloe promised she wouldn't report Charity to the police if the pair let them go in peace.
The red-headed mum-of-one allowed Mack one chance to say goodbye to his son, but only on the understanding that he would never get to see him again. In difficult scenes, Mack was forced to accept that he may never see his little boy again, amid the knowledge that Chloe had no plans to ever return to the village.
Emmerdale bosses have also confirmed that tonight's episode was the last time viewers will see Jessie on the ITV soap. The actress, who has been on the soap for two years, said they were the "best" of her life playing Chloe and being a part of the iconic Yorkshire Dales-based soap.
While it's a bittersweet ending for her character, Jessie was thrilled that she got to do so much with Chloe, including a pregnancy storyline and discovering a new family member in her villainous dad Damon.
