Emmerdale star Jessie Elland has officially left the ITV soap, as her character Chloe Harris said her devastating goodbyes to the village during tonight's episode. The heartbreaking scenes also saw baby Reuben leaving the village too, as dad Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and wife Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) were forced to make a difficult decision to let the pair go.
It comes as a result of Charity accidentally shooting and killing Chloe's nasty and controlling dad Damon "Harry" Harris (Robert Beck), following tense scenes in the abandoned warehouse where Mack had been held hostage. In a bid to leave the village with her son unscathed, Chloe promised not to tell the police what Charity did if the couple would allow her and Reuben to leave the village for good.
After two incredible years in the Dales, Chloe has exit the soap, and Jessie has now explained her reasons for leaving. Despite having to make a difficult decision to leave such a "wonderful place" and "wonderful people," the actress said she she's been able to achieve so much with her character in such a short space of time.
“I’ve had the best two years of my life playing Chloe and being a part of Emmerdale," the star opened up on her exit. "Over those two years it never got any less surreal to walk through the stage door at studios or to be stood outside the Woolpack at the village.
"I feel so privileged to have been given this opportunity and to have been trusted with such wonderful storylines. I really got to tick off the soap bingo card; giving birth, discovering new family members, a big stunt, a soapy slap, and even a classic back of the taxi exit! "All while working with, and learning from, incredibly talented people that I’d grown up watching on screen,"
