Emmerdale's eagle-eyed viewers managed to spot what appeared to be a major continuity error in the latest episode, as Cain Dingle (played by Jeff Hordley) failed to work out what Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) were up to. The mechanic and resident bad boy inadvertently got dragged in to Mack and Aaron's car-jacking plot during what should have been just another day at the office. Kim Tate (Claire King)'s client, who coincidentally drove a fancy sports car, unfortunately suffered some car trouble in the village.
After Kim enlisted Cain's help on the job, Aaron overheard what was going on and decided to rope in Mack to stealing the car. A dramatic heist ensued, with a number of hijinks along the way, as Mack and Aaron tried to work together to make sure Cain was out of the way during their crime. Unfortunately, while even a dead phone battery couldn't block their plans, fans couldn't help but notice an awkward gaffe in the storyline, which followed many more scenes in the affair between Tracy Metcalfe and Caleb Milligan, something many are desperate to see stopped.
Viewers had watched Cain lock up the garage with the silver Porsche inside, and there were three deadbolts on the front of the door. Yet when Cain returned from helping his wife Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb) on the farm, he walked straight into the garage and didn't even realise he'd previously locked it.
Without any pause, it was clear the character had completely forgotten taking earlier care, and fans were frustrated with the discrepancy. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one person wrote: "#emmerdale...and Cain opens the garage door he knew he'd locked. Well done 'continuity'" "Did he not notice the door was unlocked
