There was drama over in Emmerdale this Christmas as it ended with a shooting - but many fans of the soap felt let down by this year's festive offering as they called it 'predictable'.
Monday night's episode saw the culmination of drama surrounding Mackenzie Boyd, after he was in danger from 'Harry', who was recently revealed to be Chloe Harris' father Damon. Chloe asked her father for help after her fiance, Mack, betrayed and left her for his ex Charity Dingle.
Recent scenes had seen Mack bound to a chair and beaten in a disused warehouse, with Damon revealing his plans to kill him. Ultimately, Charity found her way into the warehouse room and hid in the background as Damon pulled out a gun.

Chloe stood in harm's way to protect Mack after which Charity ran in shouting 'no'. Mack then knocked over Damon who pointed the gun at her.
At the climax, the gun fell to the floor which led to Damon and Charity fighting to grab hold of it. A shot went off, hitting Damon with the episode ending as he collapsed on the floor.
While there was a high-octane ending to the episode, some fans were disappointed by it. @macameron66 wrote on X, formerly Twitter: "One of the worst and most lack lustre Christmas episodes I have ever seen.
"All totally predictable and nothing new or exciting. Really REALLY disappointing." @RyanTheSoapking added: "Damon has been shot. Well that was bloody predictable", while @Sir_Jeffers7 said: "Pathetic!!!! Called it from the start!! #Emmerdale"
However others praised the episode with @Cam_J03 writing: "Wow so worth the wait for that
