EastEnders, Coronation Street and Emmerdale have all been pulled from the TV schedule in a huge shake-up.
The three hit soaps will all lose their usual slots on BBC and ITV this week, to make way for football matches. As the fifth round of the FA Cup gets underway, both BBC One and ITV will be clearing slots in their usual TV schedules to air the matches. All three soaps will aired at their usual times on Monday, 26 February, but throughout the rest of the week, viewers will have to tune in at different times.
On Tuesday, 27 February, EastEnders will be pulled from BBC One completely. Instead, the BBC will show the FA Cup match between Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United. Over on ITV, Emmerdale will air at 7pm in order to make space for Manchester City vs Luton Town at 7.30pm.
Coronation Street will not be airing on Tuesday. EastEnders will again be absent on Wednesday, 28 February due to a match between Nottingham Forest and Manchester United. Emmerdale will air at 7pm again, due to ITV broadcasting Liverpool's fixture against Southampton at 7.30pm.
Coronation Street will be pulled from the channel once again on Wednesday. However, the hit soap will return to screens on Thursday, 29 February with a bumper hour-long episode from 8-9pm. An hour-long episode of Emmerdale will also air on Thursday, from 7-8pm on ITV.
EastEnders will return to BBC One at 7:30pm on Thursday too. However, the chaos doesn't end there. On Friday, 1 March, an hour-long episode of EastEnders will air at 7.30pm.
