Coronation Street's Jodie Prenger told 'sorry' as she declares love for co-star after 'incredible' praise

Coronation Street star Jodie Prenger was bowled over by the support of her friends and co-stars as she briefly broke away from the cobbles for another role. The actress, who plays Glenda Shuttleworth in the ITV soap, returned to her musical theatre roots over the weekend.
For one night only on Sunday (February 25), Jodie took on the role of Mama Rose in Gypsy at Manchester Opera House. She lead an all-star cast in the special concert production of the musical to raise funds for Manchester's Hope Mill Theatre.
She was joined on the stage by Corrie co-star Peter Gunn as Pop/Mr Goldstone, EastEnders' Harriet Thorpe as Tessie, TV star Matthew Kelly as Uncle Jocko, musical theatre star Tom Lister as Herbie and Drag Race UK star Divina De Campo as Mazeppa.

And some of her Corrie co-stars appeared in the audience to show her their support, including on-screen brother Tony Maudsley. Ahead of the show, he posted on social media:"
After the production, Tony posted a picture of Jodie in character and was full of praise for his pal. The former Benidorm star said: "What a night!! @msjodieprenger you were INCREDIBLE!!! BRAVO!!! #Gypsy #MamaRose #ManchesterOperaHouse #hopemilltheatremanchester #MyTellySister." Responding to the message, Jodie said: "Love ya bro," alongside a string of pink hearts.
