Steven Spielberg may have found his lead for his upcoming blockbuster, and it’s an actress in high demand right now. Deadline reports that Emily Blunt is in talks to star in Universal and Amblin‘s upcoming summer tentpole, set to hit theaters on May 15, 2026.  Ms.

Moviegoers may not remember, but back in February 2020, right before the COVID-19 pandemic took over the globe, Leigh Whannell‘s “The Invisible Man” raked at the box office. The horror remake was a mega-hit for Blumhouse and Universal, making over 20x its budget at the box office before movie theaters shuttered their doors for months just a few weeks later.

“I felt that exploring a story about teenage issues through the horror prism was going to work well for us,” says Don Mancini of the success of his series Chucky. “Teenagers experience their emotions in a very stylized way.

Almost a year after they conquered the Oscars with 2022’s “Everything Everywhere All At Once,” filmmaking duo The Daniels— Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert— are gearing up to make their next film, and this one is set up at Universal. Alright, “Exorcist: Believer,” Universal and Blumhouse Pictures’ legacy sequel of 1973’s “The Exorcist,” directed by David Gordon Green hit theaters last weekend and the results were, well, kinda mid. Yes, it’s a legacy sequel, so much like the newest “Halloween” trilogy (also made by Green, Universal and Blumhouse), it disregards all the other sequels and essentially only takes place after the original film).
