Not to overstate the obvious, but yes, it’s been a weird, horrible year as the pandemic not only upended our lives but the entire film and television industry. This year, that meant, so far, no SXSW, no Cannes, and no Telluride since the geniuses in the White House and their poor response meant the United States was hit the hardest (two of those three festivals being American, obviously).

HBO’s new limited series “The Third Day” boasts an original structure to tell a relatively familiar story. Six episodes will air on HBO broken up into two halves of three episodes a piece.

September has quite a few heavy hitters on the docket this year, from a new series produced by Ridley Scott and another created by Luca Guadagnino.

Even when you take away the fact that HBO’s “The Third Day” has an incredible cast that includes Jude Law and Naomie Harris, there’s enough mystery about the story, as well as the presentation of the series, to keep us intrigued about what’s to come next month. And the new trailer for the show only makes our excitement grow even more.

Back in April, viewers were given a quick teaser of the upcoming creepy thriller series, “The Third Day,” which is set to debut on HBO and Sky later this year. The series has serious “Wicker Man” vibes, as it follows Sam (Jude Law) as he finds himself trapped on a remote British island that is filled with seemingly idyllic conditions but quickly reveals itself to have a darker, ritualistic underbelly.

Sky Television has released the first-look trailer for their upcoming series The Third Day, which stars  Jude Law and Naomie Harris. The new series comes from Sky Studios in collaboration with HBO, Plan B, Punchdrunk and writer Dennis Kelly.
