Of all of the actors in David Ayer’s 2016 superhero film, “Suicide Squad,” Joel Kinnaman is probably the one that got hammered the most by fans and critics. That isn’t to say that Kinnaman completely blew it in the role of Rick Flag, but the film’s rushed script and terrible editing seem to have affected the actor more than others.

One of the most exciting films to release next year has to be The Suicide Squad which is being helmed by James Gunn. Moreover, it's the epic star cast that has tongues wagging with new entrants like John Cena and Idris Elba being added to the mix.

The Suicide Squad assembly has been introduced by James Gunn at the DC Fandome this weekend. Although fans were hoping that the filmmaker would drop a trailer and give fans a look at the cast members' villain roles in action, the director chose to release a montage of the behind-the-scenes footage to tease not just the characters but also the plot of the movie.

Jai Courtney has had an eclectic career in Hollywood over the past decade. He’s done everything from failed reboots (“A Good Day to Die Hard”) to failed YA dystopian sci-fi (“Divergent”) to failed sci-fi reboots (“Terminator Genisys”) to failed monster movie remakes (“I, Frankenstein”).

One of the most exciting projects in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) is The Suicide Squad, which sees James Gunn in the director's chair. In what is a reboot of the 2016 David Ayer film, we see some returning favourites in Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman and Jai Courtney.

The Suicide Squad is scheduled to release next year. The new DCEU movie retains a few faces from David Ayer's Suicide Squad while recruiting a slew of new faces for the project.

There is a slew of updates James Gunn has shared with regard to The Suicide Squad. The filmmaker hosted an "Ask Me Anything" amid the Coronavirus induced lockdown to spill the beans on his upcoming DC Extended Universe movie.

Hollywood has been amongst the several fields that have been deeply affected by the coronavirus scare. Due to theatres being shut down as a preventive measure, filmmakers have had to delay the release dates of their movies to late 2020 or even 2021.

James Gunn has been teasing his first DCEU venture "The Suicide Squad" from time to time on social media. The Guardians of the Galaxy director addresses fan queries about the movie and responds to them with as much information as he can give without giving away spoilers. He has previously spoken about Harley Quinn and addressed Robert Pattinson's Batman connection with the movie. Now, the ace director has revealed that The Suicide Squad might not see all the stars crossing the finishing line. 

John Cena has a jam-packed 2020 as he awaits the release of the eagerly awaited Fast & Furious 9, with the trailer coming out on January 31, 2020. The Dolittle star is also busy with the shoot of another eagerly awaited film, The Suicide Squad, which is being helmed by James Gunn. Along with John, the film also stars the OG's Margot Robbie, Viola David, Joel Kinnaman and Jai Courtney as well as newcomers Idris Elba, Nathan Fillion, Taika Waititi and Pete Davidson.

The Suicide Squad is shaping up to be a must-watch movie thanks to the super impressive cast that features original favourites like Margot Robbie and Joel Kinnaman as well as new entrants to the DCEU (DC Extended Universe) like John Cena and Idris Elba. While it hasn't been revealed which DC Comics character will John be playing in the James Gunn directorial, speculations are rife that the 42-year-old actor will be essaying the role of pacifist diplomat Christopher Smith aka Peacemaker.

Idris Elba recently played the super-powered villain Brixton Lore in the high-octane Fast & Furious spin-off Hobbs & Shaw, and has also taken on roles as Macavity the Mystery Cat in Cats and an as yet unnamed baddie in the upcoming sequel, The Suicide Squad.
