The second season of The Bachelor South Africa came to an end last night with one romantic proposal – but it wasn’t without some heartbreak as well. In the dramatic season finale, Marc Buckner asked shy 24-year-old speech therapist Marisia Van Wyk to continue their relationship as he broke things off with 31-year-old travel agent Bridget Marshall.

Fans of The Bachelor South Africa have clearly noticed the chemistry between this season’s bachelor Marc Buckner and frontrunner Rikki Brest but over the past few weeks, their relationship has been strained and, in a shocking twist, the TV presenter, drummer of a popular girl band, drum teacher, actress, DJ, MC and marketing lecturer was sent home after not receiving a rose in the series’ tenth rose ceremony.

Another week, another dramatic episode of The Bachelor South Africa. This week, Marc Buckner took 24-year-old Afrikaans speech therapist, Marisia on a romantic date to Maropeng where they took their relationship to the next level and things got streamy when Marc invited Pasha, Rikki, Pi, Nolo, Jess.C and Silke to a fun day at a water park. However, it was back at the mansion where things really got interesting.

The second season of The Bachelor South Africa is in full swing and as bachelor Marc Buckner continues to develop a relationship with the remainder of the women, a one-on-one date with Qiniso van Damme in Marc’s hometown of Durban leads to a kiss – and it causes tension at the mansion.

The first episode of The Bachelor South Africa debuted last week where Marc Buckner was introduced to 22 lovely ladies as his journey of love begins. Unfortunately, Amor Kruger and Michaela Liebenberg didn’t land up getting a rose during the first cocktail evening and 20 ladies continue their journey with Marc. However, the rose ceremony was a little unconventional as this season introduced a special white rose – and we’ve got the scoop!

The second season of The Bachelor South Africa is set to premiere on Thursday 13 February at 19:00 and M-Net have started revealing who the lovely ladies who will be searching for love on the show are. One of the contestants on the new season is TV presenter and drummer Rikki Brest.
