Just four weeks after its release, the much-anticipated single currently stands at a very unsexy No.

I feel good… again! How Sylvester Stallone helped save James Brown’s career in the ‘80s

“Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag,” 1966’s “It’s a Man’s Man’s World,” 1970’s “Super Bad” and 1974’s “The Payback” — James Brown’s recording career was decimated by the disco explosion in the mid-’70s.“Such an interesting time, especially in New York, there’s everything happening,” says Mick Jagger in the new four-part A&E documentary “James Brown: Say It Loud,” which the Rolling Stone legend executive-produced with Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson.“You’ve got punk happening, disco happening, all getting mixed up. A lot of other people were sort of left behind in this, ’cause this is a huge change, a sea change, in the musical scene.”And Part 3 of “Say It Loud” — which premieres tonight, along with Part 4 — reveals that Brown was “annoyed” about how much disco borrowed from his blueprint.“I’m the one who started disco,” says the Godfather of Soul in the doc.

Ariana Grande and Mariah Carey make a divalicious duo on ‘Yes, And?’ remix

“This Is Me … Now” had me feeling J.Low early this Friday morning, the diva gods came to the rescue. My sonic palate cleanse came in the pop-superstar pairing of Ariana Grande and Mariah Carey on a remix of the former’s new single “Yes, And?”This divalicious duet — with real singers sanging over a disco-house groove — was just what I needed to shake off the “Dear Ben” doldrums from Mrs. Affleck and get my bop back heading into the long holiday weekend. In fact, this heavyweight belt-off between two of the best voices of their respective generations is even more of a moment for me than Grande’s “Rain on Me” collab with Lady Gaga.Of course, when the perpetually ponytailed Grande, 30, burst onto the pop scene with hits such as “The Way” and “Problem” a decade ago, she was dubbed a mini-Mariah for her octave-leaping abilities and whistle register. And the tones of their voices are a natural blend when they coo the chorus of “Yes, And?” as Carey, 54, floats around Grande like the “Butterfly” she is.Carey comes in hot for the pre-chorus and the second verse, taking you twirling back to her soulful “Emotions” era and all those legendary house remixes she did in the ’90s.

This is… what? Jennifer Lopez’s ‘This Is Me… Now’ proves that sometimes art and amor just don’t mix

Jennifer Lopez’s much-anticipated new album “This Is Me… Now” — the sequel to 2002’s “This Is Me… Then,” which drops on Friday — once again revolves around her Hollywood love affair with “Gigli” co-star Ben Affleck. But just like that much-maligned romantic comedy did in 2003, Lopez’s first studio album in 10 years — since 2014’s “A.K.A.” — proves yet again that sometimes art and amor just don’t mix.First off, like most sequels, it pales compared to the original. While it was hardly Janet Jackson’s “The Velvet Rope,” Rihanna’s “Anti” or Beyoncé’s anything, “This Is Me… Then” was probably J.Lo’s most “artistic” album.Yes, it had two hit hip-pop bops in “Jenny from the Block” — which infamously featured Affleck in its video — and the lip-licking LL Cool J collab “All I Have.” But Lopez’s third studio LP also found the singer-actress digging for more emotional depth than she had shown on either 1999’s “On the 6” or 2001’s “J.Lo.”But you know what? “On the 6” and “J.Lo” were ultimately better albums because Lopez played to her strengths with booty-shaking beats — the better to hoof it up in some killer couture — rather than heart-tugging feels. And “This Is Me… Now” leans even more into J.Lover rather than J.Lo.While the first single, “Can’t Get Enough” — another hip-pop bop that samples Alton Ellis’ ’60s reggae classic “I’m Still in Love with You” while nodding to Marcia Aitken’s 1977 version of the song— would’ve been a hit 20 years ago, the rest of Lopez’s ninth studio album finds the Bronx-born diva stuck in a romantic rut.

his new marriage to longtime love Jennifer Goicoechea. But even before saying those “I do’s” in Las Vegas right after rocking the halftime show at Allegiant Stadium — midway through the Kansas City Chiefs’ overtime win over the San Francisco 49ers — the 45-year-old superstar had already let go of anything “toxic” from his previous relationships.“[I] have come out of being in toxic relationships that are no longer toxic,” Usher told The Post four days before he got hitched for the third time. Indeed, Usher Raymond IV is in a philosophical place that allows him to still show love to his exes, including Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas of TLC, first wife Tameka Foster — who is the mother of his two oldest sons, Usher “Cinco” V, 16, and Naviyd, 15 — and second wife Grace Miguel.“I can be clear that, ‘Yo, we don’t have to be the best of friends, but we don’t have to be enemies,’” he said.

“This Is Me… Now.”But apparently, a better title for J.Lo’s first studio LP in 10 years — since 2014’s “A.K.A.” — might have been “This Is It.”“The truth is I don’t even know if I’ll ever make another album after this,” Lopez, 54, told “Entertainment Tonight” as she explained the different album covers that they did especially for the JLovers — as her faithful fans are known.“It’s such the kind of quintessential kind of Jennifer Lopez J.Lo project, and I really feel very fulfilled, so they really will be collector’s items at a certain point.”After hinting at her possible retirement from the recording studio, Lopez quipped, “Don’t tell Benny [Medina, her longtime manager] that that’s what I’m thinking — this might be my last album ever.”Lopez’s ninth studio album, “This Is Me… Now,” is a sequel to 2002’s “This Is Me… Then,” her third studio LP, which featured the hits “Jenny from the Block” and “All I Have.”Lopez’s now-husband, Ben Affleck, was infamously featured in the “Jenny from the Block” video, and the singer dedicated “Dear Ben” to him.Similarly, “This Is Me… Now,” led by the first single, “Can’t Get Enough,” will reflect their relationship today — two years after they finally got married after calling off their first engagement in 2004.“Our relationship crumbled under the weight of the pressure,” Lopez told Variety.“We lost a sense of ourselves, and we needed to separate because we didn’t know how to survive it.

Beyoncé is entering her Cowgirl Era.If you thought that Bey was just randomly rocking cowboy hats all of a sudden — from the promo pics for her “Renaissance” album and tour to merch and her Grammys look just over a week ago — then you don’t know Bey.And like the marketing queen that she is, she used the biggest audience possible — in a Super Bowl 2024 commercial for Verizon that ended with Beyoncé saying “Drop the new music” — to tease the arrival of two new surprise country singles: “Texas Hold ’Em” and “16 Carriages.”On a night that was supposed to belong to another pop superstar — Super Bowl LVIII halftime show headliner Usher — once again B was causing all the conversation.(We’re sure that Usher was all good with it — after his epic extravaganza at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, he reportedly went ahead and got married to his longtime girlfriend, Jennifer Goicoechea.)But here we are beginning what is “Act II” of the “Renaissance” rollout, which began with “Act I” — a house-music manifesto led by her No. 1 hit “Break My Soul” — in 2022.But judging by “Texas Hold ’Em” and “16 Carriages,” Beyoncé is now taking us from the clubs to the country on “Act II,” which, thankfully — no surprises here — we know is due March 29.Welcome to the Rodeo-sance.It shouldn’t be a complete shock that the all-time Grammy winner can actually do country music.

Usher on taking ‘Love in This Club’ to the Super Bowl halftime show: ‘What happens in Vegas is supposed to stay in Vegas’

Usher sings in his best metal-wannabe wail of the 1986 Europe hit “The Final Countdown.”And indeed it is, now just hours from Usher Raymond IV, 45, to play perhaps the biggest stage of his life: The Super Bowl LVIII halftime show at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. But, as he stresses to The Post from rehearsals, he’s not sweating it.In fact, Usher even makes time to give us an exclusive photo shoot rocking his own blinged-out accessories, including his trademark “U” necklace, his own personal Super Bowl ring and a custom handmade Dolce & Gabbana football encrusted with scores of Swarovski crystals. This is a man who has been preparing for this moment for 30 years — since he released his self-titled debut as a 15-year-old in April 1994.“You know, this has been an amazing year ramping up to this,” said Usher of his “My Way” Las Vegas residency that finished at the Dolby Live-Park MGM in December after 17 months and 100 shows.“It definitely helped to play 100 sold-out shows, in preparation for the Super Bowl,” he added. “Now, obviously, a much bigger audience.

Ricky Gervais was once a thriving pop star before he made his career in comedy. The British comedian, 62, actually moonlighted as a singer in the 1980s, forming a band called Seona Dancing. The “Office” star created the pop duo with friend Bill Macrae during their senior year at University College London in 1983.The pair was signed by London Records at the time and even released two tracks: “More to Lose” and “Bitter Heart.”In a resurfaced video, Gervais can be seen crooning his heart out in typical ’80s fashion while Macrae played the piano.“Yearly reminder that Ricky Gervais once performed a would-be New Romantic classic in front of a bunch of grade schoolers,” the account called “Terribly Awesome Covers” captioned the jaw-dropping clip.
