American actress Kristen Stewart has been returning to the world of awards caliber filmmaking with her upcoming movie “Spencer” focused on the iconic Princess Diana, the British royal that was beloved by the public but her life was cut short in 1997 when the tabloids’ obsession got her killed, leaving behind her two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.

Brandon Cronenberg, the son of famed Canadian filmmaker David Cronenberg, is making quite the impact as a director in his own right. His latest sci-fi thriller, “Possessor,” seemed to make a huge impression over at NEON.

Absolutely no in the world of documentaries moves as fast as Oscar-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney. Known for award-winning docs like “Taxi to the Dark Side,” “Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief,” “We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks,” (his CV is outrageously long) Gibney already unveiled “Agents Of Chaos” this fall, on September 23 on HBO, a timely and revealing look at Russia’s interference into the 2016 election.

Bong Joon Ho may have won multiple Oscars, including Best Picture, for “Parasite,” but there are many film fans (especially some around these parts) that consider “Memories of Murder” the filmmaker’s finest achievement.

One of the best films of 2017 you didn’t see and one of the best films of that year, period? Neon has acquired U.S. rights to Brandon Cronenberg’s “Possessor,” a science-fiction thriller starring Andrea Riseborough, Christopher Abbott, Tuppence Middleton, Sean Bean, and Jennifer Jason Leigh.

Neon, the U.S. distributor behind Bong Joon Ho’s Oscar winner “Parasite,” has won domestic rights to “Pig,” a revenge thriller from Nicolas Cage and first time filmmaker Michael Sarnoski, Variety has learned.

Céline Sciamma’s “Portrait of a Lady on Fire” will begin streaming on Hulu on Friday, March 27, the streamer announced. Neon and Hulu acquired the movie out of the Cannes Film Festival in May, where it premiered in competition and won the Queer Palm and best screenplay.

Fresh off its Oscar victory for “Parasite,” Neon has acquired worldwide rights to “Spaceship Earth,” an acclaimed documentary about the construction of a biosphere. The film had its world premiere at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, where it was nominated for the grand jury prize.
