EXCLUSIVE: Quiver Distribution has acquired North American rights to A Bit of Light, the second feature helmed by Stephen Moyer, on the heels of 2018 family drama The Parting Glass. Fresh off the recent announcement that she would make her feature directorial debut with “Color Your Hurt,” the actress-turned-filmmaker will next be getting behind the camera for “Ash Beneath the Current.” The film is slated to go into production this summer after Thorne completes post-production on “Color Your Hurt.” Based on a story by Thorne that she adapted alongside Leaf Lieber, “Ash Beneath the Current” will be shot at Tuscany Film Studios in Italy, the new facility opened by Andrea Iervolino.

K.J. Yossman Antoine Fuqua is set to direct a feature documentary about Nelson Mandela, Variety has learned. Provisionally titled “Troublemaker: The Story Behind the Mandela Tapes,” the doc will use newly discovered audio interviews with Mandela himself to deliver an “honest, accurate and definitive depiction” of the man who remains a global symbol of justice, hope and universal human dignity, according to a press release.

Commissioned by the BBC, the three-part documentary — given the working title “Elizabeth Taylor: Rebel Superstar” — is coming from the Oscar-winning “Searching for Sugar Man” production house Passion Pictures, behind the recent Sundance hit “Super/Man” about Christopher Reeve.

International rights to the property were picked up by Barunson E&A, part of the Korean Barunson conglomerate that also produced Oscar-winning live-action film “Parasite.” “Yumi’s Cells: The Movie” is a 3D feature animation based on the popular Naver webtoon series of the same title that debuted in 2015. Production of the film is by Locus Animation (formerly Sidus Animation), which was previously responsible for “Red Shoes and Seven Dwarfs” and Studio N, a subsidiary of Naver Webtoon.
