Rico Lewis wants to play further forward in midfield - but is willing to remain patient for his chances in the middle.
Lewis was the standout player in Manchester City's win at RB Leipzig, setting up Phil Foden's opener and almost scoring himself in a brilliant first half. Afterwards, Pep Guardiola called him one of the best young players he has trained, and Foden insisted he will only get better under the manager.
Having broken into the City side as a right-back, Lewis helped City transition to the system of inverted defenders that helped them win the treble, and he is now enjoying more game-time as a number eight in midfield.

And the 18-year-old admits that he prefers the all-action midfield role, without forgetting his defensive responsibilities.
"That’s my favourite position I think, even [more than] coming inside from full back," he said. "I think playing a bit higher up then defending as a two with Rodri is my favourite [role].
"I think it’s just all about patience for myself. There are so many world-class players in that dressing room so all I can do my best and learn. The opportunities will come and when they do I’ve got to take them. I just have to stay patient."
With an eye-catching display in Leipzig, coupled with Rodri's suspension in the Premier League on Sunday against Arsenal, Lewis may be a late contender to start at the Emirates. But he dismissed talk of keeping his place in the starting line-up, insisting: "I don’t have any hopes or anything.
"I do my best and we’ll see what happens on Sunday but it’s all about what the
