Gary Neville has slammed Manchester City midfielder Rodri for his moment of "madness" during the victory over Nottingham Forest this weekend.
City were cruising against Forest as Phil Foden and Erling Haaland put the Blues 2-0 up inside 14 minutes at the Etihad Stadium. However, the dynamic of the match shifted shortly after the restart when the Spanish midfielder was involved in an altercation with Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White.
Rodri was seen pushing his opponent near his throat and was shown a straight red card. Pep Guardiola was furious with his player after the game and claimed he needed to learn to control his emotions better on the pitch.

Reflecting on the incident on his Sky Sports podcast, Neville could see why Guardiola was annoyed with his midfielder. "Rodri is a wonderful player, a leader for Manchester City and I don't know what he was doing on Saturday," he explained, "it was absolute madness and I can see why Pep Guardiola is furious with him.
"Rodri not playing now against Arsenal levels this game up because City don't have anyone who can replace him like-for-like. But they can't have any excuses, they've got a strong squad and they've got enough talented players to come in.
"But, Haaland aside, because he's irreplaceable, the two most important players in that fixture are Rodri and Declan Rice. So it will be big that Rodri's missing but Arsenal need to get Rice fit for that game in two weeks."
As Neville referred to, the Gunners could be without their own defensive midfielder after Rice picked up an injury during the draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
