Kevin De Bruyne has returned to action for Manchester City ahead of schedule as he declared himself happy with his fitness.
De Bruyne limped out of the Champions League final just under two months ago, later claiming he had played for two months with an injured hamstring. He travelled with City on their pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea, but didn't come off the bench as his fitness was managed in difficult conditions.
The Belgian finally got his first minutes of the summer at Wembley, coming on to change City's attacking fortunes against Arsenal in the Community Shield, setting up Cole Palmer to put the Blues ahead. Leandro Trossard would equalise late on, though, sending the game to penalties where De Bruyne smacked his effort off the bar as Arsenal won the Shield.
Speaking after the game, De Bruyne declared himself fit and calm over his injury issues ahead of the new season, which kicks off at Burnley on Friday night.

"I'm way ahead of schedule. I was probably looking to be back around the game vs Seville [next week]," he said.
"I've been two or three weeks. I just enjoyed my summer, worked on my injury. I came back and the scan was good so I trained mostly alone in Japan. That went well, I'm happy.
"You don't know how the injury will be. Mostly in the past I've always been quite a quick healer. It's the body."
De Bruyne wouldn't confirm if he is ready to start yet, but was unconcerned with his recovery before the beginning of the Premier League season and UEFA Super Cup in the next two weeks - even joking at the ever-increasing number of fixtures City are being asked to play.
He said: "I don't know how I am
