Cole Palmer suggested that a new signing could push him out of the door at Manchester City after helping them win the Super Cup.
Palmer, who struggled for opportunities last season, started in his favoured position of the right wing after coming on to score in the Community Shield against Arsenal and bagged the equaliser in Athens. Palmer described City as the best choice for him this season at the moment, but puffed his cheeks out when he talked of the club bringing in extra competition; the Blues are chasing winger Jeremy Doku, albeit Rennes are demanding a steep fee for the 21-year-old. As much as Palmer has been happy to get opportunities early in the season at City, he wants to take the decision that will allow him to play regular football this season and needs convincing that it can happen at the Etihad.
