Coronation Street star Simon Gregson, who plays Steve McDonald on the ITV soap, has been getting in the festive spirit and helping his wife Emma Gleave after her cafe suffered damage due to a storm. The couple, who got married in 2010, were faced with a devastating situation after intense winds, nicknamed Storm Pia, swept through Morley Tearooms in Cheshire. The eatery featured a number of Christmas additions, including a home-made Santa's Grotto that 49 year old Simon had proudly revealed earlier this month.
The actor posted a series of snaps of his wife's "Christmas bargain" grotto on Instagram. The activity cost £15 per child, and was a magical experience for families, but sadly it had been destroyed by the recent bouts of rough weather. Simon, who previously starred on I'm A Celebrity...
Get Me Out Of Here!, donned a casual outfit for the clean-up operation, opting for a pair of grey jogging bottoms, a navy blue hoodie, and a pair of patterned Nike trainers. He was spotted walking backwards and forwards carrying away rubbish and bringing in new decorations and wrapped gift displays as the couple attempt to recover the situation in time for Christmas. The star covered his face and hid from view, choosing instead to get down to business, and added an orange cap to finish.
There were also a number of handy men and workers nearby getting involved. In one snap, onlookers could also glimpse candy cane decorated poles and crates of other festive paraphernalia for the display. Emma previously described creating her whimsical grotto as a "real labour of love".
